Located 19 km from Yakusugi Land, Yakushima Cottage Morino Fairy offers a garden, and air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. The hospitality was absolutely amazing, from activity recommendations to the little extras, we felt very welcome by everyone. We mixed eating out with cooking dinner in the room, enjoying sunsets on the deck. At night, the sky deck and outdoor bath also made for a perfect end to the evenings--talking, talking, talking while looking out at the ocean and the Milky Way.

At Cottage Morinokokage, guests can rent out a cottage with a hammock. Free WiFi is available in the guest rooms. It was super cute, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. it was located in a very calm area, accessible by bus with just a short walk from the bus stop. There were two restaurants in the area, one sushi restaurant a 15 min walk from the house and another one a bit further away. The staff, Mr Ryosaki Nakashima, helped us call and make a reservation at the sushi restaurant, which was lucky since it was almost full when we arrived. It was possible to wash your clothes for free at Cottage Morinokokage, and there were also some vending machines with food and drinks available. We also asked for breakfast (possible to book upon check-in) which was very nice and in-expensive.

Providing a garden, 星空に包まれる 森の隠れ家 Amrita Lodge ~stay & retreat~ is situated in the Kirishima-jingu Onsen district of Kirishima, 12 km from Ebino Plateau. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. Ideal location for exploring the Kirishima Mountains. Lovely host.

Set 34 km from Yakusugi Land, TIDA Resort Yakushima 旧 屋久島海の胡汀路てぃーだ offers a terrace, a restaurant and air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. The accommodation has a hot tub. Very friendly and welcoming. The cottages are well designed, the beds are extremely comfortable and the location is over looking the ocean. The family that own it are really attentive and we had the optional dinner one night which was incredible and cooked by the owner chef. Easy drive from the airport and to any of the amazing hike trail heads and onsens. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again!

Cottage Yakusugi House features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Yakushima, 11 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo. The owner helped us a lot with finding out how to get where! Also, the room was huge and absolutely enough for the three of us. Everything was clean and we had everything we could wish for.

Set 2.5 km from Harutahama Beach, Cottage Kutsuroki offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. Very good option as Cottage Kutsuroki are standalone bungalows so no noise issues at all. Extra convenience of car parked right at door, easy to load suitcases etc. Very good well stocked kitchen and finally, after days of thin futon beds, nice to have “normal” mattress beds to sleep on!
