I occupied a "Deluxe Double" room on the fourth floor (room #1) for a couple of nights in January as a solo traveller. The best and most important thing I liked was that the price was right. Moreover, all the essentials in the room worked as designed. The lights lit up the room, the toilet flushed, and the hot water was hot. I didn't try the AC or the TV but I'm sure they probably worked. Also I never tried to lock tne room door when I waa inside the room but I suppose that worked also even though it was very old like most everything else in Cairo.
