Starwatching Private Camp, hotel in Ḩawīyah

Starwatching Private Camp is located 18 mi from the village of Bediyah, the highest dunes of wahiba sand for spectacular sunset and sunrise view.

The location was amazing and the experience - from the night sky to the Bedouin family was exactly what we wanted for ourselves and our 20 month old. Dinner was traditional Omani while breakfast was more western but delicious. Our son played a lot with their kids, who were charming, warm and friendly.

Starlight privet camp, hotel in Ḩawīyah

Offering a garden, Starlight privet camp offers accommodations in Ḩawīyah. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking. Outdoor seating is also available at the luxury tent.

We spent one night at Starlight privet camp. It was amazing! We were picked up from the city Bidiyah in a jeep and taken to the camp. On the way, we stopped and were shown a little camel. At the camp, we were welcomed with hot karak, coffee, dates, and fruits. The camp itself was very comfortable and convenient: a spacious tent for sleeping, a separate bathroom with a toilet and shower, and a separate gazebo where we could have dinner or just relax. Special thanks to the camp staff. They were extremely polite and friendly. On the day of our stay, it was my wife's birthday. Ali helped to buy a cake with candles in advance and surprised her. I would also like to mention dinner and breakfast — incredibly delicious national dishes. In one day at the camp, we managed to catch the sunset and sunrise in the desert, warm up by the fire, and admire the stars.

Oman desert private camp, hotel in Shāhiq

Oman desert private camp is located 6.2 mi in the desert at the top of one of the highest dunes at the area. Its a luxury tent and consist of 2 floors .

Exceptionally friendly staff. Deeply committed to being accommodating. A nice range of activities. We did the camel ride, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We also recommend the three hour desert ride. The food is plentiful. And very tasty, but relatively basic. Dinner is a variety of barbecue meat. Breakfast is an omelette, bread and jams, and a typical Omani cheese and honey crêpe. Coffee, tea and cakes available all day. There is an additional charge for the food. We paid 8 OMR for dinner and breakfast, which is very reasonable. There are different types of accommodations ranging from tents to constructed Cabins. We stayed in a tent and this was perfectly fine. The best part about the accommodations is that you are not in a compound and the individual tents and cabins are separated. Sound carries in the desert. We saw a number of other camping sites where the accommodations were set up almost like row housing. We highly recommend.

Hamood Desert Private Camp, hotel in Al Wāşil

This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available.

Hamood's hospitality is really great. He makes sure that everyone has what one needs. Tents are in a beautiful location, easy walk over the dunes to sea a sunset. Do not try to get there on your own just by maps, let him guide you through the dunes. Maps will take you close, but the most challenging route is still ahead. Both dinner and breakfast was great, with a great selection. Dinner maybe slightly more limiting for vegetarians. Fridays are generally very busy and slightly noisy, but you can see how locals are having fun during their weekend. The sunset camel ride was great and so was the morning discovery of the desert with Hamood. If there's more people in the camp, be patient and enjoy the surroundings until it's your turn to be taken care of. We stayed an extra night and we're happy we did. Saturday was much more quiet and one could really appreciate the solitude of the desert.

The tent was fun and in between dunes so it felt private. We were helped to get there since we didn’t have a 4 wheel drive car and the entire experience went smoothly and was great.

A fabulous night. The camp is located deep into the desert and the ride in over the dunes was part of the fun. It was very peaceful, with only 5 rooms and a perfect setting up on the dunes. We could discard our shoes for the duration of our stay, and had wonderful sunset and dawn walks up into the high dunes directly behind our room. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Amazing experience. It provides a genuine taste of the desert (great sights of dunes and starry nights, a sunset trip to the dunes with the extra perk of dune riding on a jeep), but also offers enough comfort for those who are not too keen on camping. The tents are large, clean and equipped with soft beds and even a small restroom (where you can truly shower under the stars). The staff is very nice. Absolutely recommended.

    - highly recommend booking the desert drive for 30 OMR (per car), this included the transfer to/from the camp from the parking lot. The drive to the camp includes a serious uphill section, a cheap 4x4 rental got stuck several and couldn't make it. The desert drive is lots of fun, the driver will drive to 2 viewpoints (for sunset) with fun dune driving in between.

The desert camp is well located to see the extraordinary beautiful sunset. The camp tents are big and comfort to shelter 5-6 people with open sky showering room. Delicious Omani dinner with loads of fruits provided and we specially like the Omani tea and coffee. Camel ride and sunset ride on a 4-wheels car are great experience too.

Great location out of everything in the middle of the desert. A short climb to the top of the big dune with amazing views. Nice staff, though they speak only basic English. Nice dinner, tasty and sitting by the fire enjoying the stars later. The tents are clean ans spacious with roofless bathroom attached. Great for spending a night away from almost everything.
