This is a beautifully restored hotel that doesn’t look like much from the outside, but is just delightful on the interior. The owner-manager spent literally years carefully and thoroughly renovating this nearly 150 year old building, carefully preserving many old architectural elements that provide a truly charming atmosphere. The result is stunning! Also the breakfast buffet was amazing with such a wide array of delicious choices. Our stay here was well worth the slightly higher rate. The front desk staff turned out to be the owner and she was so helpful in directing us in exploring an old, nearby town that suited our interests perfectly.

Quinta Vilar e Almarde offers rustic-style accommodation in Castelo de Paiva. The family was amazing at the arrival. Amazing place to go and relax with the lovely view and pool area. I 100% recommend this place. Won’t hesitate to come back !

With its own orchard and vineyard, this 4-star hotel is situated 800 metres from Lamego’s centre. Guests at the Lamego can also savour the local cuisine for lunch and dinner. I just had the best time at this amazing hotel! The staff's hospitality was top-notch. They welcomed us with a drink and showed us around the hotel. It was my husband's birthday, so the hotel made it super special by giving us a nicer room! Also, the staff set up fun things for us to do, like a boat trip and wine tasting at a nearby winery, which I highly recommend! The hotel has an outdoor heated pool and an indoor pool with saunas. Perfect for chilling out. And the breakfast was seriously the best ever – so many tasty choices! To sum it up, this hotel rocks! The staff is awesome, the food is great, and the place itself is just so cool.

I want to go to the Douro Valley again just to spend more time in this place. The staff are incredibly nice and welcoming. We recommend trying the port wine of the house!
