This property is quite charming. We had a one bed apartment that was so clean, inviting and safe. The views from the property are absolutely stunning. The owners are so very thoughtful and had added a few nice touches to make our stay memorable. I had left something behind at the apartment and the family had gone way out of their way to make sure my property was returned to me. I will not forget your kindness. Thank you!

The property was a self contained apartment. It was very spacious although the bedrooms were upstairs and the stairs were difficult to negotiate. The kitchen was very roomy and had everything we needed plus more. The availability of a washing machine and clothes line was fantastic.

Very clean, comfortable, modern and spacious accommodation located in the center of Pinhao next to the Douro river. Ideal to visit the area and to take a boat trip on the Douro river. We enjoyed the place and especially the air-co! Upon arrival, we were spoiled with some local products. We highly recommend this place if you want to visit the Douro region.

Very central location with great view, plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Close to the river with kayak rentals. Even being on the main road through town, the apartment was quiet. Each bedroom has it's own temperature control, beds were comfortable and the entire apartment very clean. Basic hygiene supplies provided. Being from the USA, we didn't realize there was a ground zero so the second floor was more like the third floor. There is no elevator but with our carry on luggage the stairs were not a problem. Apartment is on the very top of the building, go up all the stairs. Key is located outside the street door. Laundry is easy to wash and dry, outside access for drying clothes. TV received a few English channels. European size balcony complete with chairs to sit outside while watching the river activities. Locals were all very nice despite language challenges. Host was fantastic and super responsive. We enjoyed our three nights.

The location was really good, really near the train station and shops. The house was spotless and the host had even left Bread, ham,cheese, butter, jam, orange juice and milk for us! The bed was so comfy and the Air conditioning was a nice bonus. The shower was warm and had good pressure. We really enjoyed out stay here. Pedro the hsit was exceptional. He was so good at communicating with us and sent us so much information on the town and things to do.
This apartment was very clean and well stocked with little essentials and snacks in the kitchen. Location was perfect and a beautiful little sitting area right outside the front door. We were only there for 1 night but it was perfect.
The guest house was in a perfect location and was very stylish. Owners were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was lovely and very clean. Breakfast was ok. Parking was a huge bonus. Views from the house were wonderful. Its an easy walk to town for restaurants and boat trips.
Bruno has a vinyard and makes delicious wines. Definitely worth trying while relaxing in the lounge.

In Douro Backpackers you feel that the staff has had all the experiences of backpacking themselves and turned it into the very best practice you can imagine. We felt more than welcome from the very moment we opened the door until the heartfelt goodbye. It is the perfect location to meet up with other travellers, the roofterrace and the breakfastroom are ideal spots for this purpose. We never in our whole lifes (which are pretty long, with lots of travelling) have never come across a place like this. Go there and see for yourselves!
The location is good. If you have a large group, and you're not concerned about aesthetics, and have a very small budget, then this is suitable. The terraces were a plus.
We stayed on the ground floor, and were pleasantly surprised by the size, and presentation of our room. The view from our 'terrace', the 'pool' and the breakfast room was beautiful - probably the nicest in all of Pinhao! The location is also ideal if you don't mind a 10/15 minute walk to the centre of Pinhao - although I wouldn't recommend the route for young families as the start of the walk is along the roadside. There is also a gorgeous HUGE dog who lives on site - a gentle giant :)
