Boat & Breakfast Bellevue, hotel in Ghent

Offering river views, Boat & Breakfast Bellevue is an accommodation located in Ghent, 46 km from Boudewijn Seapark and 47 km from Damme Golf.

The house boat was beautifully fitted out and decorated. It made an excellent base to explore Ghent, being close to the tram and also walking distance from the train station and city centre. It was so unusual to be on the river and be able to look out of portholes & sit on deck sipping wine! The owner was quick to replace the coffeemaker when it appeared not to be working and he was very helpful with recommendations for eating locally and getting the tram. My daughter & I had a lovely weekend!

Le Grand Bordeleau, hotel in Ghent

Situated in Ghent, 8.2 km from Sint-Pietersstation Gent and 47 km from Damme Golf, Le Grand Bordeleau offers air conditioning.

It was very kind of Francis to bring us breakfast when he needed the plumber to work on the space during our visit. We greatly appreciated that gesture and it was a fantastic breakfast we found out he normally offers anyone ... i would take it. We also appreciated the fact that he was not bothered by the fact that we needed his assistance when we first arrived because of some technical issues we had along our journey. We would highly recommend this location.

The experience of sleeping in a boat with the comfort of a small apartment. The boat-themed Playmobil all around the place added a nice and creative touch.

The location was very central and next to the boat stations for canal tours. The restaurant was right beside the canal and food was excellent. Bie made us very welcome from the moment we arrived till the time we left.

The Boatel is a great place to stay in Gent. It is very peaceful on the river. The owner has created a very special place with just a few rooms and does a great job explaining about the boatel and providing tourist information. The room was more spacious than I anticipated, considering that it is on a boat. I loved the ducks and geese swimming right up to the windows! Everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with fresh bread from the local bakery and homemade berry jam, among other things.

The Boatel is an amazing experience. The room is very clean and has good bathroom facilities. Sven the owner is very friendly and gives you a great introduction to the boat. There is an honesty bar where you can grab a beer and go and sit on the roof deck and watch the world go by. I loved how you were greeted in the morning by passing ducks on the canal that swam right up to your room window. The location is within perfect walking distance to the train station and the old town.

Location could not possibly be better - canal-side in the middle of everything but still relatively quiet somehow. Easy stroll to all of the main sights. The canal boat tours (do it!) board a few feet away from the front door. Gorgeous large rooms, beautifully and thoughtfully renovated. Affordable compared to some other stays on this trip, for a hotel that felt truly premium.

The concept of staying on a boat is what makes this hotel different- waking up to seeing ducks swimming past your window was lovely. The location is ok- a 10 minute walk from the train station and the city (in either direction). Breakfast was ok- basic continental, but eggs cooked to order. The Captain was friendly & very passionate about his boat hotel… which is a great experience if you’re staying in Ghent for a night!

The room was comfortable and I enjoyed the idea of a small hotel on a boat. The boat hotel is situated close to Gent city center and it was a perfect base to discover the city for a short stay like mine. Breakfast was very good and rich both with salty and sweet food. Captain Sven takes good care of his guests, definitely recommended!

Superb visit to Gent and the house boat. It has everything you could want and could be used as a base for travel to other destinations. Warm, well lit and very comfortable furnishings. Incredibly clean and and quality materials which are easy to keep sparkling. We would definitely return for another visit. Very impressed by the James Bond style closing shutters. An amazing find. One we will not forget!
