Guests can grab a bite to eat in the in-house family-friendly restaurant, which specialises in African cuisine and also offers vegetarian, vegan and halal options. We just finished our 3 day stay in Mafia and at Mafia Island Bungalows : it was a lovely stay, all-round : beautiful space for the house, comfortable terrace, perfect bedroom (Upendo - very nicely decorated with local flair, loved it), great bathroom… everything fine! The place is overall very quiet as it sits a little away from the road at the entrance of the Marine Park. We did not meet the owners, who where on a trip off the island : however, they took the time to check-in with us every single day, and it was much appreciated. We also would like to adress a great shout out to the staff : Hassan was very available, without being « too present » / just the right balance; and there is an amazing Chef on premises: we loved the breakfasts and even more the diners! The homemade bread and Chapatis, the soups, the mains and the deserts… everything was delicious ! Well done, we whole-heartedly recommend staying with you when visiting Mafia and hope to come again one day ☺️

Located in Kilindoni and only 6.1 km from Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve, Maweni CoralBay Beach Villa provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. This bed and breakfast offers a garden as well as a bar. Lovely location just on the beach with great sunsets. Good breakfast. Very good WiFi in common areas and rooms. Staff always friendly and available. Thank you Mudrick and Ramla! Also Baja the manager was easily accessible through WhatsApp. Bar open pretty much all day. And hot water for tea or coffee always available. Walking distance to airport, ferry, town centre and can walk for hours along the beach either way. Snorkeling from shore to see starfish, jelly fish and sea cucumbers and 2 monkeys passed through the hotel while we were there. Offer whale shark tours though their sister hotel. Good value for money.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet. The food was also delicious. The scenery and beach with the mangroves was beautiful.

Butiama Marine Camp is the perfect place to stay in Utende. There are so many activities, Meals are amazing, and the Beach is very walkable and quiet. Would absolutely recommend to all. While it can be a bit pricey with Marine Park fees, it is absolutely worth the convenience and comfort.
Ally is a very good host that tries his best to help and make you feel at home. I had the room with own bathroom and it was big and comfy. Staff makes really nice food. A bit of a walk to the nice beaches but cheap to go there by motorbike. Friendly people in the lokal area. Definitely one of the cheapest accommodation around. Buy a local SIM to have access to the Internet. Cold showers. Tours can be booked from here.
KK is extremely tranquil and perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of anywhere else. The setting is so peaceful hidden under the high canopy of the tropical forest. The staff are amazing and so helpful with anything on the island. The food is tasty and great value. The area has no other tourists so very quiet. The outdoor showers with Kerosene heating is pretty cool too.
Beautifully maintained, green and peaceful, very very kind and helpful staff, care for nature and animals (Pablo the dog was cute and friendly as well), well decorated, easy to move around with tuktuk, local beach nearby... and we were almost the only ones staying, so it was pleasant and quiet
Mr Ally Mgeni and his team were super nice and super helpful from the beginning, also with supporting the transport by public ferry which is not so easy to handle as a non local. Had a nice stay in this quite area which is though in walking distance to the airport and to the city center
