This is basically a homestay in a self-contained detached room with an en-suite. The provisions were excellent, and the attention to detail was well appreciated. From yoghurt, fresh fruit to bread for toast in the morning with a range of condiments, along with tea and coffee, I suspect few travellers seeking a bed for the night would be disappointed.

It immediately felt like home. Esther and Tom are the most lovely hosts, you’ll may experience. Nothing is too much trouble, just perfect in every way. Esther has amazing home cooking and fresh baking available for the mornings and afternoon. They are also full of local knowledge and trivia, if you need any recommendation for visiting places in the area. The house and the rooms are spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Fantastic bathrooms with walk-in shower, heated floors and luxurious toiletries. So many lovely things are presented, like homemade cakes or cookies when you arrive back at home in the afternoon. Freshly made, fruit salads, cakes, jams, and bread in the morning with the choice of either cooked or continental breakfast. Drinking tea or wine in the afternoon with all sorts of freshly made nibbles. Port and chocolates at bedtime. We’ve stayed at many 5 star accomodations in the world , but this place is so much more…… Words fail us; you have to see and experience it for yourself! Therefore, we would encourage anyone visiting Napier in New Zealand to treat themselves to this quintessential experience. Our stay at this luxury accomodation, 415 Marine Parade was definitely one of the most memorable stays of our holiday in New Zealand. Hidden Gem in Oaklands provides accommodation in Poraiti, Napier. The spacious, modern studio features garden views and your own private entrance. While touring around the North Island, this was by far the best place we stayed in. Our host, Lisa was friendly, helpful and made our stay so welcoming. The place was spotless. We cannot recommend this Gem highly enough.

It was more like a hotel and home away from home. Leanne and Steve are amazing and super friendly. The food was all nicely prepared in the fridge with lots of choice. Very comfortable bed. Was allowed to bring my dog which was amazing. She felt right at home too. Lovely area for walks and very connected to everything.
