The breakfast was amazing, and everyone was incredibly nice. The room had a/c, comfortable and clean beds, and a little screened in porch for our individual place. She called taxis for us when my Spanish proved to be inadequate. She also kept our room and the whole house and courtyard pristine. Her giggle will be one of my best memories of Campeche. The location was very convenient for exploring the charming city.

It is a small village in rural area. Perfect if you don't like tourist hotspots: a complete immersion in the local life. The rooms are individual little houses with a bedroom and bathroom. It is very basic, but the most important things are there: toilet (without toilet seat) and shower (not sure if hot water worked, we didn't tried that). The ceiling of the bathroom as quite low, about 1.80m. Beds (2 beds of 150cm x 200cm) were very comfortable and the AC worked very well! There is even a TV in the bedroom. The host family was super friendly and they made an excellent breakfast and dinner. Few important things: - Take some Spanish classes, so you can communicate with the family. It's very interesting and fun to interact with them. - Don't forget your mosquito repellent! It's a rural area. - Again, it's rural area with rural sounds. Be prepared for some 'noise' crowing roosters, turkeys, barking dogs etc.
