I am a bicyclist and this guest house puts an emphasis on bicycling, which is fantastic. They even have a small herb garden if you decide to make dinner at the house.

Located in Shima, B&B Forest Shima features accommodation with a garden with a children's playground. Everything, there was a lovely warm atmosphere and the facilities were great. Breakfast was delicious too.

Atashika is a gem - a beautiful beach cove surrounded by mountains, peaceful, hardly a soul on the beach, especially at the end of the day. We spent a glorious day of relaxation here, and could easily have spent more. The guest house is a fantastic and comfortable space that has been cleverly designed, and the hosts are so kind and generous and eager to help. It is inspiring to see their entrepreneurial spirit and ecological mindset (the house was renovated with second hand materials, for example). The whole experience was magical and we wished we had more time. There is so much to discover in Wakayama, and this could be a good base. Hope we can come back someday.

Wagaranchi offers accommodation in Kumano. Free WiFi is featured throughout the 100-year old wooden property and free private parking is available on site upon prior reservation. This was a truly memorable and awesome stay for us in Kumano. We were kindly welcomed in a house filled with figurines, games and toys from the early 2000s. The host was extremely kind and even helped us set up a projector to watch a movie! One of the most unique stays we’ve experienced in Japan so far! There’s also an incredible restaurant nearby called 食堂 あお where the owner speak English and we got to taste the best fish we’ve ever had! Overall highly recommend!!

The staff was great, really kind and the location was 5 minutes walk from the station so very convenient. I even liked the bed which was very comfortable.

A very typical house, so probably not everyone likes it, but it's totally my type. It's 5 minutes walking from the station, so also convenient. A house lord speaks English which is rare in the country, is super kind, taking care of guests and helps with everything. We had only one stay in on our way to Ise, but definitely will back there! Very recomended. Oh! And there's karaoke bar with great alcohol !!!

Taikoji Shukubo Hostel is situated in Ise, 8 km from Ise Grand Shrine. Free private parking is available on site. All rooms are air conditioned and bathroom facilities are shared. If you want a real Japanese experience,this is your place. A mixture between traditional Japanese houses and old days life. it's literally beside a shrine. The crew was incredibly nice. Ideal to disconnect from the world and live some days of peace and quiet
