Very nice and cosy room for a family of 3. The cows were a big hit with our toddler, petting and feeding them. The resort has a great restaurant and the cows are milked right next to you at the other side of a glass wall during dinner and breakfast.

Located within 2.6 km of Myvatn Nature Baths, Birkilauf in Myvatn has a number of amenities, including lake and mountain views. We had a great stay in Birkilauf. Our room was very spacious and had its own bathroom as well as an private entrace to the huge terrace. The common area has a living / dining room and probably the best kitchen we have seen in a guesthouse so far. You can probably cook (or bake) everything here - also the equipment was quite modern. You will also find eggs, milk, joghurt, cheese, butter, jam, cereals ... as well as tea and coffee to create your own breakfast. The terrace also offers a bbq. Our host was extremly friendly and gave us a warm welcome. Also he made home-made bread and cakes for everybody to share. The location is a little bit (but easy to reach and find) and we had the chance to see the northern lights from the terrace.

I watched the Aurora in front of the accommodation for two days without stopping~^^ The heating was good and it was warm. It's in front of Lake Myvatn, so the view is good. If you open the window at the back, you can see the Volcano's Caldera. I stayed there for 2 days, and the old man at the reception was very friendly. ^^ The two dogs were very friendly.. had a comfortable stay. Next time I visit, I want to stay here again.

Location, cleanliness, the food ( amazing!), the amenities ( including the hot tubs!!) and the locals who were welcoming and warm!

Great location just in front of the Lava Field. The price includes a very good breakfast. Location very convenient, close to all atractions in Myvatn Lake zone.

Offering rooms and cottages, Hlíd Hostel is 500 metres from Lake Mývatn, in Reykjahlíd. WiFi and parking are free. Facilities include a BBQ area, terrace and shared kitchen. Lilia was very helpful and accommodating.
