When we arrived at Orchard Grove in Bagnalstown we were greeted by Mairéad who welcomed us and showed us to our room. It was a beautiful two bed en suite room with facilities for tea/coffee and a light snack. Mairéad offered to drive us into Kilkenny where we were attending a wedding. Breakfast the following morning was latest 9.30am, (I love my snooze in the morning) but I could totally understand why it was that time because her phone never stopped ringing and she had to prepare for her next guests. Breakfast was a FULL IRISH and was delicious. Great conversation with other guests and the host. I would give this Bed n Breakfast a 100% top rating. Oh and the jam was lovely 😍😍 I would definitely go back there again. Thanks Mairéad and your helper. Up Limerick

Some may not think to consider Carlow as a stop and stay point while traveling Ireland...but you ABSOLUTELY should. This was one of our favorite places. The town is low key and wonderful. The restaurants are spectacular. (We're still talking about our dinner at Café 500) Avlon House was spot on. Fabulous. The care Tom provided was exceptional. THE BREAKFAST was to die for. Tom not only provided us a wonderful place to stay, but he also took the time to talk with us and let us know of the special areas in town and close by to visit. Our rooms were great. Spacious and warm. Comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. Exceptional amenities. The home was beautifully decorated and cozy. We were next door to our kids upstairs and it was perfect. If you need a place to stay while traveling the area, stay with Tom at Avlon. You won't regret it.

Cosy big bedroom, clean shower and WC. Clean sheets and super crispy towels. There is a mini kitchen and even board games! I love this place. It's so quiet and peaceful. I recommend a long stay if you're working in surrounding areas for some time or looking for a quiet weekend. It's not my first time here. Excellent money value for such a place to stay.

Great location just over an hour out of Dublin. This was our last stop on our road trip, the host was lovely and met us when we got there. Room was large and everything we needed. We got to meet the two sweet pups on the farm and the donkeys which was so amazing! Hot water, comfy bed, coffee in the morning! All great!
