The host was very kind, and took the time to converse with us even though we had to use Google translate. The suite was lovely and spacious. Breakfast was good. The location was fabulous, close to the beautiful old part of Puy En Velay, a very cool church high on top of a rock, and a giant Mary and Jesus statue you can climb up into. I would stay here again!

We will be back next year if they will have us!! We travelled with our 3 children they loved the pool and the fantastic location and experience from the local cows who reside in the neighbouring field,to the very best cuisine from the local area. I miss our fantastic hosts already!

Situated in Bourbon-lʼArchambault, in a historic building, 20 km from Centre national du costume de scène, Chateau du Grand Lucay is a recently renovated bed and breakfast with a seasonal outdoor... Château du Grand Luçay is an amazing gem!! Pieter and Elise are generous hosts, they welcomed use into there home and we felt more like visiting friends. They had a lovely reception of wine, drinks and snacks for us when we arrived. The maintained the charm of the Château but added a few modern conveniences. The bathrooms were incredible, new and modern. After 2 weeks from home the bed was luxurious and so comfortable. We loved their dog Bella who was very patient we our puppy Hans. The breakfast was beyond delicious, amazing cheeses, cold meat selection, and pastries, with all the extras. Our children were in heaven. We will definitely be returning, hopefully soon!!
