Boasting a garden, HOSTAL CASA PALMA is set in Ríohacha in the Guajira region, 300 metres from Playa de Riohacha. The guest house has family rooms. I was aware about the type of room I payed, without window or natural ventilation. But for the price its a good option, especially for its location near the beach and the travel agency that I hired. Mr Jair was a nice host from the beginning with us , I appreciate it his hospitality.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They kindly did our laundry and neatly folded and bagged ready to be packed for the next location of our travels.

This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. *QUIET: Just off the main road but peaceful and quiet. *MOUNTAIN VIEW: You can see snow-caped Sierra Nevada at sunrise *OWNERS - Miguel and his family (Sandy, Norelis) were incredibly kind and helpful. You immediately feel welcome. they are from Palomino and Miguel has a lot of knowledge about anything you wanna know - he’s always up for a good conversation *TRANQUILITY: The entire place transmits so much peace and tranquility form the noisy town *CABANA with floating bed right next to pool was spacious and had enough storage space (large shelf, table with two chairs on patio) *FLOATING BED was comfortable and not moving much and it had a mosquito net (I traveled by myself) *Waking up to the sound of birds was heaven *Pool was cleaned daily, contained Kids area and was illuminated at night * The entire area was huge with mango and plum trees * BREAKFAST was traditional and delicious (eggs, arepa with cheese, huge fruit plate, hot drink and juice) * LAUNDRY on site is very convenient * GUEST SERVICE: Very attentive for guests - I had a personal request related to the food and they made an exception for me

A budding slice of paradise in a quiet corner of Palomino, the care taken in the creation of the space, it’s integration into the surrounding community and ecosystem, and the family-feel of the hospitality makes Jui Chi Mama the place to stay in Palomino. From the moment we were greeted by Germán, we knew the quality of our stay was important to him and his family. Germán took the time to sit with us with a map and orient us in the wider region of the Sierra Nevada and La Guajira province. If you like BIRDS or learning about local ecology and wildlife, you MUST book your tour with Germán. We had one of the best birding walks of our three month trip with his keen eye, beautiful storytelling, and kind and collaborative presence. Our room was very comfortable with a strong fan, comfy bed, great mosquito net, a cute little balcony, and clean private bathroom. The properties garden and communal space was lovely, though we didn’t make as much use out of it as it deserves as we spent most of our day out doing activities.

Boasting a garden, shared lounge and views of inner courtyard, Casa Zaida Hostal Vintage is set in Ríohacha, 800 metres from Playa de Riohacha. It was an incredibly lovely stay at Zaida's place. She is a lovely woman who takes great care of her guests. We wished that our Spanish would be better to understand all the lovely poems Zaida presented to us. If you are homesick, Zaida will take you into her family with open arms. All the best to Zaida and her family.

With garden views, Hostal Nibuni Palomino is situated in Palomino and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, sun terrace and year-round outdoor pool. This hostel is so calm but still very close to the center and restaurants. The breakfast was really good and free. The staff are super helpful. I had a great time staying here!

Offering a lovely garden/chill out area and views of the mountain, Bella Flor Hostel Palomino is situated in Palomino, halfway between the beach and the main drive. This is Palomino <3 Coliving with nature… Our room was utterly beautiful, down to every perfect little detail! <3 Open aired, plants in the bathroom for your privacy, just the entire space - we were in awe! This is definitely one of our favourite places to stay, if not “the favourite”! Wi-Fi is amazing here, especially for Palomino, where the power goes out every now and then - Bella Flor has both a generator, and solar panels so the internet is stable even during outages. This is highly important for my partner who works online. So we immensely appreciate this - to be able to take “your office” with you to paradise. The communal spaces are also gorgeous! Just saw a hummingbird in the garden the other day… Easy to meet other travelers, and there’s also a quiet space for when you need “me time”. They also have a communal kitchen. And you can see the stunning sierra and its snow (yes, snow!) from their backyard… Of course we extended our stay here for longer <3
