The in-room air conditioner was a life saver because it was an abnormally hot and humid couple of days and there was no relief even at night. The check-in was painless and breakfast was quickly served when we arrived downstairs in the morning to talk to the host.

Daniel is an entertaining host, and his breakfast preparations were very good. The inn is full of history with many antiques. This is the perfect location from which to explore the entire island, as well as venturing into Quebec City. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Au Vieux Foyer.

Stephanie texted us before we checked in and asked us about our dinner and breakfast preferences. Breakfast was prepared in advanced and placed in our room. It was high quality and delicious. Room was clean and well decorated! Everything worked just fine. Highly recommend.

We love both the facilities and the location. We always come back at the same time each year - during the “off season” - so it is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The hotel staff are always wonderful and helpful - not only about the hotel itself, but about other things in the local area itself.

Beautiful grounds with nice gardens, large shade trees, wild birds, an apple orchard, and a lovely front porch to sit on in the evening. The owner is an absolute delight. She is friendly, inviting, artistic and shared with us some of her incredible experiences as a young artist in Quebec City. Breakfast featured farm fresh quail eggs among other treats. Wonderful place.
