It’s a lot more comfortable than you would expect from the pics. Lots of the slightly more negative feedback from the past reviews appear to have been rectified - which suggests a host who cares about their guests comfort. Eg small towels - have been replaced with more standard sized towels. There were mattress heaters in our 2 rooms which was fine for us in winter. There’s a small restaurant in the immediate adjacent neighbours compound - so food is available. Plus, the host graciously offers to take you to town and back for food if needed (NTD 100 one way). His vehicle can accommodate 5 passengers.
Bonus about their place is its at the higher end of the mountain - cloud trail starts literally around the corner. It’s a few hundred meters of walking up trail at the start - but after that, it’s all downhill linking all the different trails all the way to town. Real plus compared to starting in town and going UPHILL all the way.
Morning brekkie was delicious - hot scallion pancakes, fresh fruit and cherry tomatoes and tea on a crisp winter morning. Bliss.

Beautiful scenery. The old man in charge was most welcoming. He invited us to have his home grown tea and we drank and chatted for hours (the red tea and oolong tasted amazing! He sells his tea too.) He gave us 7/11 credit after we told him we would be leaving before breakfast. He has a very interesting life and was enjoyable to talk to, very worth it.
The room was comfy and clean. A bidet toilet, electric blankets, AC, dehumidifier and TV were provided, with plenty of English language channels.
The area outside the rooms reminds me of a dojo, had a workout session there in the backdrop of the mountains, like karate kid

Great small bed and breakfast. Very nice owner and good location - can walk to town although a lot of steep hills. Food was exceptional and better than many restaurants! Tea tasting was very nice and in patio overlooking tea plants.
Great Location in the mountains surrounded by tea farms. Close to multiple trails. Great sunset. Friendly and helpfull staff. They pic you up at the bus stop for a small fee. They provide water, public kitchen and sell instant noodles.

Gd location within walking distance from Shizhuo Main Street. Not so convenient to walk in the frequent June rain or thick afternoon mist… but the host was very kind to offer to pick us up when we LINE call her after our early dinner— she even dropped us at a local grocery store for us to buy locally grown fruits. Private shower room was basic but well-maintained with hot water, tiles in good condition and a large sink.
The farm is located near tea fields with amazing mountain views. It is located remotely hence very quiet.

Great location in the middle of Fenchihu. Really characterful building and rooms. Although an old 'character' property - definitely not a luxury hotel - there were lots of unexpected thoughtful touches ( e.g.Alishan tea and teaset in room, old cedar wood bath and bathing salts) that really added to our stay. Do ask about firefly tours - we did one and it was a highlight of our trip, with hundreds of fireflies seen.

It's peaceful, quiet, serene, great location, excellent view. Room size was great and spacious and clean. Owner was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and nice. Highly recommend this property.
