The host absolutely made our trip to Nikko. They were super accommodating with our requests, and immediately made us feel welcome. They provided very helpful suggestions for our itinerary, and sat down with us to talk us through it. The guesthouse is beautiful, clean, modern and comfortable. We were only two, but it can easily accommodate a family of 4 (possibly more). Location is absolutely unbeatable, with views to the river.

Super nice stay during our 3 weeks travel to Japan, one of the best. We felt really taken care by the owners of this hotel, significantly above any expectations. This place is wonderful. The house is a typical japanese home, with your private room with a futon that you can prepare by yourself.
There are also a shared kitchen and living room but especially there is a little but very cute onsen where you can relax after your trip in the Nikko area.
Hiro, the host, is a very kind man that is super friendly and available for all your needs.
He come to the train station to pick us the day of our arrival and he has accompanied us the next monday on time for our train.
I really recommend this place, it is a real oasi of quite inside Japan.

Host very welcoming and willing, room cozy and traditional in Japanese style. Position close to the temples but out of the crowd, you can hear the river in the night, very relaxing! Finally there are two little onsen so we even got the chance to relax a bit. Strongly recommend!

Lovely, clean and quiet place. Izumi was a great host. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. We had the privilege to see a mother deer with its fawn from our deck, it was spectacular. We highly recommend this beautiful stay.

Location is very good, close to most of the main temples in the area and a few nice restaurants nearby. The hotel is simple yet charming and well kept and the private Japanese bath is a plus. Staff is friendly.

Great hosts who went out of their way to make our stay very comfortable. Spotless house, quiet location, beautiful touches to make it feel homely, an awesome bath that stays hot and fills automatically- the best bath I have ever had! Hosts had information including timetables for buses, shows at edo wonderland at their finger tips. Walking distance - 5mins to bus stop and only 10mins tops to train station. Host also took us to the train station in their private car - very friendly, polite and helpful. Loved our stay and wish we stayed longer.
Great location for visiting the shrines and temples. Quiet and cosy, old style and comforting. Free tea and coffee and use of tableware if you want to eat your own food. Friendly owner with great advice about where to visit and where to eat. Spotless shared washrooms. Great private Japanese style baths for a good soak at the end of the day. Easy access by bus from the station.
I enjoyed the breakfast of toast, an egg, fruit, and coffee (not included in my room price); it was perhaps a little pricey but very convenient.
