Cleverly designed and run hotel to serve crowds of 1-2 night ring road travellers (I presume). Impersonal (centred on easy going accommodation service rather than personal guest treatment) and yet convenient and meticulously maintained. Great choice in this Eastern Iceland hub.

Basic facilities, but very clean and had room for us and our 2 adult children (1 large bed, 1 single and pull out couch). Extremely reasonable rates for 4 people. Met our requirements to have accommodations close enough to the Ring Road but also convenient for our evening trip to Borgarfjordur Eystri under the midnight sun to see the puffins. Very easy check in and check out process.
A good location for a hassle-free holiday in Hallormsstaður, Mjóanes accommodation is a guest house surrounded by views of the lake.

We spent one nigt in the modern little woden house. You have everything you need there: fridge, private toilet, comfortable bed. Kitchen is outside as well as shared showers where you can also use washing mschine. We enjoyed evening sauna an freshly baked home made bread in the morning. Elsa and Magnus are very helpful hosts.

Very nice small luxury hotel in the woods south of Egilsstadir with views of the lake from the outdoor hot tubs and restaurant. The two hot tubs have a very pleasant temperature. Bathrobe and slippers were offered for free. Spacious, modern and stylish ground-floor rooms with terrace, a small table and desk.
Excellent breakfast, they even prepared fresh waffles and pancakes. Dinner was also great and freshly prepared in the open kitchen.
The hotel is situated near Egilstadir, where we had to stop over before heading for the ferry in Seydisfjordur. The hotel was very quiet, with nice, clean and spacious rooms. The diner facilities were good, and they were really helpful in preparing for us a 'take away breakfast', as we had to leave very soon in the morning to catch the ferry, All-in-all a very nice experience in a very comfortable, nice privately owned (?) local hotel!
The room was very clean, it had a private bath, and a garden view. The hotel was quiet. There is a shared very well equipped kitchen with two refrigerators and dining area for about 10-15 people.
Spacious and modern room with a comfy double bed and a kitchenette for those who like the cook!
It is a great location closer to Vok Baths and its on a quiet street off the main road. Had a lovely nights rest here.
