ViaVia Guesthouse, hotel in Bantul

ViaVia Guesthouse is located in Yogyakarta, a 15-minute drive from the lively Malioboro shopping street and Yogyakarta Palace. It features free internet, a café and rooms with modern décor.

Amazing hostel with the best staff I could have wished for. I started with 3 nights and ended up staying 12 nights. First in a private room, later on in the dorm. When I arrived, I had an infection in my leg and the staff were driving with me directly to the clinic and supporting me with the medical system in Indonesia. Later on I had to go for surgery to the hospital and they never let me alone and were taking care of me all the time. Besides this special treatment, the hostel had a super nice common area (nicer than in the pictures!) with some chilled sitting/laying possibilities, my favourite place was the hammock in the shadow. In the common area you will (not always, but in the morning and afternoon) find other travellers (families, couples, as well as solo travellers). For those, who want to do Yoga: yoga mats are available. The showers have immediately hot water and a really strong water pressure. (One disadvantage: no mobile shower head) The beds are comfortable, mattress is rather hard than soft (one of the reasons we were staying here, as my friend couldn’t sleep on the super soft bed in our first accommodation, where you can feel the frame and the springs). Towels are provided in all room types, so also in the dorm. And can be changed on request or they change it, if you stay longer. The breakfast is amazing: every day it is changing, so you don’t get bored. If you request the day before, you can also get Indonesian breakfast. This is what I did, so I ate yellow rice or soup or rice porridge for breakfast. The breakfast always consists out of the main plate + coffee or tea + fruit juice or fruit platter. Water to refill your bottles is available for a little fee. The reception supports you in all belongings, and as they are partners with the Viavia travel agency, you can easily book tours or workshops at the front desk.

Rumah Sawah, hotel in Bantul

Offering an outdoor pool and private check-in/check-out, Rumah Sawah is located in Yogyakarta. Free WiFi access is available. Air conditioned rooms are provided with desk, wardrobe and mosquito net.

Nice and clean room in a large garden with a great pool. The owner is very kind and brings fruit from his garden en spoils you with delicious fruit juices. At the moment, they don’t serve breakfast. But you can easily order a delicious breakfast by Grab (Asian Uber). Rumah Sawah is located just outside the hustle en bustle of the city. By Grab you are within 10 minutes (1 euro) at the trendy Jalan Prawirotamen with a lot of nice restaurants, or the Watercastle. We first stayed a few days at a luxury but impersonal hotel in the city center, but we preferred the quiet atmosphere, the kindness and the beautiful green environment of Rumah Sawah.

Yukke Tembi Homestay, hotel in Bantul

Situated just 9.1 km from Sultan's Palace, Yukke Tembi Homestay provides accommodation in Yogyakarta with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen.

We stayed here almost a week. We continue extending our stay because we loved the homestay and the village. The village is for those who want to be on a calm part of the city and you are open to explore the local and simple life of their lovely habitants. We loved: - A different indonesian typical breakfast is served every morning. We really enjoyed trying different dishes. - The common areas are beautiful and comfortable. - The staff is friendly and always willing to help and gave us very good recommendations. - It is possible to do your laundry, the staff will take care of it. - The room has everything you need and its very comofortable, clean and pretty. - The kitchen is good equipped and very clean. - The village is incredible, it is beautiful and peaceful. The people are so friendly. There are many delicious and nice restaurants nearby, you dont need to go into the city for this. Thank you all for your effort!

The Kresna Hotel, hotel in Bantul

Steps away from Prawirotaman, The Kresna Hotel offers cosy rooms with Javanese-style interiors. It operates a 24-hour front desk and provides free Wi-Fi in all areas.

Hostel was basic, but price/quality was good. Staff is very friendly, some speak little to no English though. But then they try with Google translate so that was ok. Location is fine, like max 10 minutes walk a lot of restaurants. Big and cheap supermarket next door. We stayed a total of 6 nights. Upon request you get clean towels, some water bottles and soap. Free tea and coffee in the lobby room. Sometimes it felt like we were the only guests, so quiet place in an otherwise bustling city.

Room is spacey and spotless. Many cute and chubby cats on the property. They also have a cafe in front of the hotel, easily order snacks. There's stove and fridge, possible to cook your own meal! Quiet and cozy space for working, there's a table and desk on the terrace. Nice location, not so near the hustle bustle of the city yet it's easy and accessible to go around.

The room, the facility, the hospitality. Staff are very friendly and cater to our needs, even woke up at 4 for early check out and extra unplanned night. Breakfast is good and prepared fresh daily with home-cooked kentang kering our favourite. We love Piko the dog and the green surroundings. Peaceful and quiet place, great for couple.

To stay in Villa Nextdoor Nature means a real relaxing time surrounded by very great hosts and a beautiful javanese house! We needed a relaxing day after 5 days Jakarta/Yogyakarta City impressions… we can highly recommend this accommodation, if you travel with family as we’ve been or in any other constellation. Thanks Betty and Peter for the perfect birthday breakfast, your open mind and the warm and interesting conversations! We would have been glad to have spent more time in your house.

The staff is incredibly friendly, rooms are very clean and the view is amazing. Quick note the hotel has two areas 2km apart, one is with the restaurant, zoo and kids playground, the other is with the spa area and the swimming pool. Make sure to get rooms close to the swimming pool as the ones close to the kids playground are not quiet at all. The food from the restaurant is delicious.

Beautiful resort surrounded by nature. Breakfast was tasty and delivered straight to our room/bungalouw. The service is outstanding, and the staff was going miles to help us with transportation, eg. to the restaurant and even dropping us to the Ramayana Ballet in Prambanan. Perfect place for a quiet getaway close to nature.
