First class experience, would definitely stay here again as they just get everything right.
The room was spacious and ideal for us with a 6 month old child.
Location is perfect, right on the edge of Grasmere village and a 2 minute walk to all of the amenities.
Breakfast was fantastic every day, both the hot and cold options.
The real jewel in the crown is the staff who are absolutely fantastic. Check in was seamless and the young lady who checked us in showed us not only to our room but also a Quick Look around the main part of the hotel and explained where everything was.
Nothing was any trouble for these folks who were accommodating of our youngster at breakfast and were just lovely throughout. Massive thanks to Nick who got my partner’s Kindle back to us after we left it in the room. Thank you so much for that.

The place is so quiet and peaceful. The bed is comfy with essential facilities available. We enjoyed the view from our room and the location. We had avocado on toast and salmon and eggs on toast, and it was delicious. We were happy with the staff who were very understanding and cooperative.

Victorian House is the perfect home base for a stay in Grasmere, it is nestled on a quiet corner steps from the main shops and restaurants of the town, with the most spectacular view. Beautifully designed and kept, each room has an air of luxury in the most cozy comfortable way. Beyond the location and design the staff are amoung the most caring and hospitable I have ever experienced, taking genuine care in each aspect of the experience. Also an excellent breakfast! We can’t wait to return to this special place.

Stayed in the Penthouse, top floor with a private outside terrace which is nearly as big as the room… great for the dog and if we had had better weather, for us too!
Plenty of parking, Richard was on hand twice when we needed a hand… forgotten phone charger and then jump leads for the car!!! Nothing was too much trouble, great host.
We love everything about Lake View Country House. It's beautiful inside and out. It's in a great location. Quiet, private but close to all the nearby amenities. Super Dog Friendly
