Situated just 16 km from Pico do Carvao, Alto do Forte offers accommodation in Ponta Delgada with access to an outdoor swimming pool, a spa and wellness centre, as well as a lift. Staff was wonderful and accommodating and helpful. breakfast was good, may add some variety to make it better rooms were wonderful but wifi spotty beds comfy, and cleaning staff wonderful property is in a good location, pool was cold and had chemicals that hurt the eyes, but the hot tub was a great alternative driveway was steep and garage very tight, would suggest small cars only

18 km from Pico do Carvao, Quinta da Paz Azores is a recently renovated property located in Pico da Pedra and provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Exceptional location right in the middle of the island but still close to everything one would need, decorated with very good taste - a perfect balance between old and new, an incredible yard with a large garden and many birds that add a bit of life to the scenery. Sometimes fresh eggs directly from the hens in the yard are available for breakfast - although during our stay there was quite a competition for them :)... too many people wanting them and too few eggs - so the owner supplemented from other sources to meet the high demand haha. The pool was a bit cold for the month of May when we were there, but good for a short swim for the brave. There is also a very nicely arranged indoor jacuzzi where we spent one of the evenings - much more suitable in terms of temperature for May than the pool. Generally, the place is frequented by families with children or quiet groups... we didn't really see the other guests during our stay. We also used the barbecue, where you have all the conditions, everything is prepared, plenty of wood, and the grill is impeccably clean and ready to use. All in all - an attention to detail that you rarely see, and we have traveled quite a bit. For us, this should be the definition of 5 stars: nature, good taste, cleanliness, tranquility, enough space, a well-kept garden, and a lot of respect between guests and hosts... for this reason, I consider the quality/price ratio unbeatable. We didn't miss anything and felt wonderful, a place I would definitely return to with pleasure if I came back to the island. Last but not least, Claudia, our host, was extremely open and communicative, she waited for us upon arrival to show us the house and yard and was there with information throughout our stay if we needed it. A model for how such a place should be run, our congratulations!

Located within 12 km of Pico do Carvao and 24 km of Sete Cidades Lagoon, Santa Clara 1828 provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Ponta Delgada. The accommodation was very well designed and comfortable, with a lot of attention to practical detail. I enjoyed my stay very much and would have extended it, had the hotel not been fully booked. Bruno, our host, was particularly friendly and helpful. A great detail were the juice, milk and typical sweets provided upon arrival. The location is excellent, just a few minutes away from all the sights. One of the best travel experiences for me, and the wish to return!

Vila Emigrante has sea views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Capelas, 6.9 km from Pico do Carvao. The air-conditioned accommodation is 15 km from Sete Cidades Lagoon. We had a beautiful stay here, with amazing views from our house, everything clean and cozy, well equipped. A perfect host Dianne, very kind and helpful! We can only recommend and we'll definitely come again when visiting Azores

A perfect stay for our family when in Ponta Delgada. Very clean and comfortable, this private apartment is situated right in the city center, next to some highly recommended restaurants and cafés. Apart from being comfortable, super clean, with everything that you need inside, we gladly learned that it is quiet too. The owner was more than friendly, always there to help if needed.
