The property exceeded my expectations. Everything in the room was perfect. The room was spotless, everything looked brand new, the room was very very wide, the beds are very comfortable, and our room had a piano which we enjoyed playing. Most important, it is in the center of town with a drugstore across the street and dining less than five minutes away! Also, the owner made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stay here again.

The garden is also really well maintained and adds to the charm. - Spotlessly clean: Everything was incredibly clean when I arrived, which made the stay very comfortable. - Fast WiFi: The internet is surprisingly fast, which was a great bonus. - Affordable food options: The house offers food you can buy for just 100–200¥, including ramen, curry, rice, and snacks - Great location: A supermarket is only 2 minutes away on foot, and there are two hot springs (onsens) and a beach within walking distance. - Spacious and well-equipped: The house can accommodate up to 7 people and has two bathrooms, which is really convenient. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook. - Friendly owner: The owner is incredibly kind and speaks enough English to communicate easily. They’ve also prepared some English translations and information to help you out.

The accommodation was more like a homestay, as you have your own space but the owners are downstairs and are connected through an internal stairway. The host was extremely kind and generous. The weather was cool, so we didn't get to use the outdoor space much, but in warmer weather, it would be a lovely space to read, rest and eat. The bedding and space overall was comfortable. Parking was easy and convenient. We came in on the ferry, so the location was perfect for our late arrival.

古民家のお宿ふうす, a property with a terrace and barbecue facilities, is located in Amami, 7 km from Oshima Tsumugi Museum, 22 km from The Remains of Nanshu Saigo, as well as 32 km from Tida Mall Shopping... The owner was so kind and helpful throughout our entire stay. She shared with us fresh tropical fruits and even her home made Tempura of vegetables from the island. She also lent us kids toys for our three year old daughter and a bouncer for our baby. She works at a souvenir shop literally right across the house, and her house was next door, so she was easy to contact if we needed help. The house itself is an old traditional house, and it is very spacious and came with everything we needed. Like the other reviews mention, the floor plan could be a bit confusing, but for a traditional house, it is very normal. Some parts of the house are rustic but that did not bother us. The kitchen has all sorts of appliances so it was very convenient for us to prepare meals at home. They even have an outdoor grill, and that was definitely one of our favorite memories of staying at this house. Our toddler enjoyed running around the house, and we didn’t have to worry too much about being too loud because we had the entire house to ourselves. Overall we had a fantastic time, thank you for the warm hospitality!
