Most important, it is in the center of town with a drugstore across the street and dining less than five minutes away! Also, the owner made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stay here again.

The house has food and everything else you need, all of it meticulously labeled in Japanese and English. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you are with a group.

古民家のお宿ふうす, a property with a terrace, is located in Amami, 7 km from Oshima Tsumugi Museum, 22 km from The Remains of Nanshu Saigo, as well as 32 km from Tida Mall Shopping Street. The owners are very friendly and so mind. We even got to try to delicious fruits thanks to them. The accommodation is actually a full house with so many rooms, at first we got lost in the house 😁. It's very convenient because you have a washing machine and a kitchen with everything you need.

Lower floor seemed to be storage area. All upper floor is guest apartment consisting of fully equipped kitchen with seating area, big tatami room, and one bedroom with two conventional beds. Latter two rooms open up to a terrace with beautiful sea view. There was self check-in and out without difficulties. Onsen 5 minutes away walking. Café and fish restaurant same distance. Supermarket down the road in town.

Offering a garden and quiet street view, match guest house（まっちゲストハウス） is set in Tatsugo, 15 km from Oshima Tsumugi Museum and 18 km from Amami Park. It was the loveliest place to stay. Spacious, clean, modern with everything I needed! The host was so lovely too and went out of her way to help me. It's in a lovely quiet location
