Right in the centre of Takayama, set within a short distance of Takayama Station and Takayama Festival Float Exhibition Hall, Karin House offers free WiFi, air conditioning and household amenities... Very modern on the inside with lots of traditional items all around. Plenty of space available for my family of 4. There were 3 bedrooms with 2 beds each, we only used 2 rooms in the end. Kitchen was complete with all the utensils required for a simple meal at home. Washer and dryer is definitely a big bonus for travelling families. Lovely hot tub, definitely the most unique one we have seen!

Perfect guesthouse to explore the beautiful postal towns. Kanto was an amazing host and very welcoming. The guesthouse has such good amenities, there was free tea and coffee and sauces. Would definitely stay again! Thank you :)

Host Masahiro, an easy going person and quick to respond to all queries. Nestled in the old district and within distance to all attractions in Gujo. However the stairway going up to the bedrooms is steep and a challenge to older folks. Otherwise a beautiful ryokan to experience Japanese living.

Everything was amazing. The owner was responsive and friendly. Checking in and out were a breeze. The house is extremely clean and spacious. There is an outdoor tub for you to soak in as you enjoy the crisp air, and a sauna to sweat it out if you decide to. There are crockery, cooking utensils, and even drip coffee equipment if you choose to make your own food and drinks. We came in winter and the place was sufficiently warmed with 3 heaters, one in the living room and two on the second floor. There was even an Atari console to play with! The house is located within walking distance from the main shopping and eating district. Would definitely stay here again if we're back in the area!
