This guest house is located a very convenient walkable distance from the airport, perfect for staying before an early morning flight. The rooms and communal location were clean, tidy, and well-stocked for anything we might need for a brief stay. You need a rental car unless you want to stay entirely in the hotel. Limited supermarket in walking distance for beverages and chips. In 2,5km distance at the entrance of the resort is shopping Center with a more equipped supermarket.
Faro is perfect place for vacation and get away because of it's Mediterranean climate type. The people are charming and friendly, always curious to know about you. English is widely spoken by the population especially the younger generation so you wouldn't have any problems navigating your way through the city. You can enjoy world class cuisine in this city ranging from the Portuguese traditional food to continental, Brazilian, African, Indian, Chinese, Thai, etc. My favourite food is the Kebab 🥙 and my favourite place is the Faro shopping mall popularly known as the Forum. So, go and enjoy Faro city.
Quiet mainly residential area. Beautiful long sandy beaches Long board walks that connect beaches. Great walks and cycling in area A trip to Loulé is a must and Faro old town and beach is easily accessible. Great restaurants all along beach.
For two weeks in Nov-Dec we found just what we were looking for: a charming old city with sunshine and perfect climate (18-21°C). Lots of good restaurants, especially for sea food; and a big municipal market to shop for 'home cooking'. Friendly people.
Not child/ family friendly. Outdoor pool freezing. Indoor pool reserved for adults only even though when we booked it had children’s times scheduled. Main reason we booked was for the indoor pool. Very isolated if you don’t have a car. Otherwise everything was as expected in a 5star hotel.
Visited off-season. A small town, peaceful, and almost empty at the end of November. It's definitely worth a day of sightseeing, and it's an excellent place from which to make day journeys to discover different parts of the Algarve region.

Apart from having to check in at another hotel, the Baixa was in a convenient location, but didn't have a chance, as it was dark, to really look around. This was an overnight stay and we were only there for about 4 hours, before we left for Faro Airport.
