Hotel Faro & Beach Club, hotel in Faro

Located in downtown Faro just a 5-minute walk from the train station and the bus terminal, this modern hotel overlooks the old town, marina and the Ria Formosa Natural Park.

Good location, overlooking the marina - with the old town behind hotel. Easy to walk around the town. The restaurant was on the top floor with amazing views and we had a very good breakfast. We took the free transport to the beach, which was lovely. I don’t know how they can call it a Beach Club though, as it’s only a cafe on the beach!

The price I paid for the room including breakfast, I did not receive the service. The breakfast was really not what I had expected I could have had the same breakfast at elsewhere for €5. Overall very disappointed Booking this hotel. And through booking.dot com I would not recommend this hotel to anyone

FAQs about hotels in Faro

Colourful, Historic, and Sunny

Faro is the picturesque capital of the Algarve region, offering colourful streets and buildings, Moorish influence, and typical Portuguese charm. It is encompassed by the lagoon of Ria Formosa Natural Park, and offers wide beaches, a laid-back atmosphere, and a vibrant nightlife.

Occupied by Phoenicians and Carthaginians, and once an important Roman harbour and Moorish culture capital, it was almost flattened by the 1755 earthquake. Happily, the historic centre survived and is today one of best preserved in Algarve. Choosing a hotel in Faro’s Old Town will allow you to have a more authentic Portuguese experience.

The long, sandy beach of Praia de Faro is 7 km from the city, and the beach on Barreta Island –also known as Deserta - is probably the most tranquil in the region. Hotels near the beach in Faro and the surrounding towns of Olhão, Tavira, Quinta do Lago, Quarteira and Vilamoura, are all excellent ways to enjoy sunny Portugal.

Faro International Airport offers connections throughout Europe, and the city also offers ferry, railway, and bus links. Whether you need a beach resort or a hotel near Faro Airport, check out the wide offer available on Booking.com!

Faro is a lovely place to visit.

Faro is a lovely place to visit. It is very relaxing there and not overcrowded but still has a nice buz. The people are very friendly. It is a lovely city to stroll around at your ease. There are beautiful sunsets there. The transport and distance to the airport are all very easy to navigate. It could also be used as a base to explore other areas.

I went to Faro to visit my sister in hospital.

I went to Faro to visit my sister in hospital. Therefore there was little time for "touristy" activities. I visited twice a day with a break at lunchtime. Because of the good weather (January!), I enjoyed a couple of hours, in between visits, at the marina taking in the sun.

I stayed in Faro Monday until Friday.

I stayed in Faro Monday until Friday. I liked how close things were, very walkable. I booked an afternoon boat tour of the Ria Formosa which was excellent and good value for money. Top tip: If you book an afternoon trip you'll get to see the sunset while sailing back. Every meal I ate in Faro was delicious...the hotel restaurant called Adao Poke Bowl and Steak house, and some places around the centre such as 8 Tapas, and also Restaurante Cidade Velha which is next to the Catedral, amd Cosina las Islas. Also try Casa da Ginjha for a typical Portuguese liquor.

I would consider Faro a quiet city to visit, easy to get around on foot. There are taxis available everywhere which are not that expensive either. Lots of places to eat too. Felt very safe at night walking around as there were lots of families out and about too. Its not a noisy touristy place to visit if you want a relatively quiet holiday.

The old town was ''being repaired" but was good.. I liked being in a high up bar above the town there. I liked the boat trip very much and the ease of getting in and out by taxi from the airport was worth paying for. A clear map of the town centre would have helped. My printout was full of tiny streets! ..hard to read. I ate at the Hotel Eva. Good value meal . The hotel Frangaria had a restaurant attached and I had a good meal there too.

Excellent location, pristine rooms that were cleaned everyday. A great restaurant and bar on the rooftop complete with loungers and a heated pool for guests which was so refreshing in the Faro heat. The hotel feels more than 5 star, rituals toiletries across the hotel and motion sensor lifts etc which made this the cleanest hotel I’ve ever been in. Couldn’t recommend more! To top it off the staff were exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful and the breakfast spread was incredible with so much to choose from.

Arguably 1 of the best hostels in Algarve, and if it's the best in the region then it will have to be the best in Portugal, and Portugal is a worldwide tourist destination leader... Concluding... So @Jonathan you and your team really know what you are doing here at @sunlover's hostel in #albufeira that makes people prefer to stay in your hostel instead of a hotel or apartment. Keep up the good work. There're no strangers just a bunch of people you haven't met yet.
