Faro Boutique Hotel, hotel in Faro

Offering a rooftop terrace with views of the Ria Formosa and the city of Faro, Faro Boutique Hotel is situated just a 3-minute walk from the Old Town and 450 metres from the Faro Marina.

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. To start, you have to carry your luggage up a set of steps just to check-in. Then, there's a bit of an elevator although it's so slow, everyone takes the steps. The room was very small, so small in fact that there isn't even a small space to use to keep your personal items. No vanity top in the bathroom to store your bathroom items either. Walls / door are all paper thin - terribly noisy from adjoining rooms and hallway. The only positives were the staff were somewhat helpful getting a taxi and the hotel isn't the worst we saw in the neighborhood - I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel.

FAQs about hotels in Faro

Colourful, Historic, and Sunny

Faro is the picturesque capital of the Algarve region, offering colourful streets and buildings, Moorish influence, and typical Portuguese charm. It is encompassed by the lagoon of Ria Formosa Natural Park, and offers wide beaches, a laid-back atmosphere, and a vibrant nightlife.

Occupied by Phoenicians and Carthaginians, and once an important Roman harbour and Moorish culture capital, it was almost flattened by the 1755 earthquake. Happily, the historic centre survived and is today one of best preserved in Algarve. Choosing a hotel in Faro’s Old Town will allow you to have a more authentic Portuguese experience.

The long, sandy beach of Praia de Faro is 7 km from the city, and the beach on Barreta Island –also known as Deserta - is probably the most tranquil in the region. Hotels near the beach in Faro and the surrounding towns of Olhão, Tavira, Quinta do Lago, Quarteira and Vilamoura, are all excellent ways to enjoy sunny Portugal.

Faro International Airport offers connections throughout Europe, and the city also offers ferry, railway, and bus links. Whether you need a beach resort or a hotel near Faro Airport, check out the wide offer available on Booking.com!

    Faro is a beautiful place.

Faro is a beautiful place. Great food and drinks on the doorstep of Faro Hotel. Beaches 20 minutes drive away. Lots of shops to see and prices for food reasonable. Could do the whole of Faro in a day. Ubers are plentiful there. We took one to a beautiful beach where you get served on the beach. Not sure if there is enough to entertain children. But really lovely place.

What an amazing place to visit for a short break. There are so many things to do and see, including churches, museums, tiled streets and the cathedral in the old town. If I had stayed there longer, I would have visited the beaches and islands nearby.

The Rooftop was a brilliant place to be for resting and relaxing when you wanted to with soft back ground music..it was lovely been there at the bar or the restaurant where you had your breakfast or dinner or even where could have snacks if you felt abit peckish before dinner time or even go to the bar and have a drink or to you could also go up on the rooftop and watch the planes flying in and flying out from the airport and surrounded by historical buildings we would definitely come back again thanks to faro staff management 😀 😊 😄.

A nice town/city. Easy to get around, on foot or bus/car. Pedestrian friendly. Bus station where you catch the No.16 Bus to from the Airport. Railway Station next to the bus station. Plenty places to eat , drink, shops, the marina to take boat trips. The Old Town, is easy to negotiate on foot. Well worth the visit. We found the local people very friendly/helpful.

Great town with many places to visit.

Great town with many places to visit. The old Cathedra is a jewel. The museum is worth to spend some time there as well and the church tower offers great view on old town. Faro is also the place where we experienced first time beautiful fado music. On June 12 we had an unforgettable night at Castelo restaurant. Thank you.

Fantastic location - I'm pleased we chose to stay on the beach rather than in Faro township. Great restaurant for dinner and breakfast - cinnamon toast in the morning was special. Excellent value but did notice that Summer prices were significantly higher. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking next to the hotel was fine but Summer could be more problematical.

My friends and I decided to holiday in Faro ,Portugal from the 15th to 18th of August 2022 and we thought that Villa Lidia was a great option for its location and size seeing that we were six people. I must say that the house is lovely and its location near perfect,a few steps from the beach and with its back garden sitting literally on a ria( estuary)
