I like it as it brings childhood memories from India! I noticed locals are responsible and keeping their city clean! I was hoping for a great food but I wasn’t lucky! Endless street markets are great but shop keepers can be bit more patient to make the explorers experience better.
we stayed for 8 days and did a 3 day trip to the Sahara which I would really recommend. 4 days is enough time to explore the city and have some relaxing time. I felt safe, the streets were very clean, it can get busy in the markets. I found it difficult to find really amazing food but was pretty satisfied and the hostels and hotels are really nice and affordable and the people are very welcoming. the arts and architecture is great and overall id really recommend.
Just as you’d expect, hustle & bustle, souk haggling and great range of bars & restaurants. Great atmosphere in Jemaa el Fnaa on an evening especially. Recommend Bahria Palace & El Badi. Malah cafe/restaurant in Place de le Febrantiers is great at any time of day. Most locals really lovely and have good English if you don’t speak French or Arabic. Most of Marrakech is ‘dry’, you can find restaurants and bars that serve alcohol but its expensive. Be prepared to tip everywhere and for everyone trying to sell you something. We were there for a week and probably 4/5 days would have been enough.
Marrakesh is a nice destination, full of sights to see and to experience Moroccan cuisine. Whether you went to spent money or if you're on a budget, you will have a great time here. Of course, visit the medina for either nice local food or shopping, in the evenings you can go to Safran restaurant as an example for a fun night with good food and shows. You can either walk to take inDrive taxi's. Concerning transportation, the inDrive app will give you nice drivers who are very helpful. The yellow taxi's are very bad though. Most taxi's are dirty and they charge 3 to 5 times the normal tariff. If you ask them to put on the meter, all of the yellow taxi drivers refuse. If you're looking for a place to get away from the cold of Europe, Marrakesh offers temperatures between 17 to 24 degrees in January, which is nice. The nights however are cold, so be sure to bring a good at night.
The visit of Madrassa, Museum, Market was amazing. We enjoyed the prayer time in Kutabia Mosque. Excertions to Ourika Valley and Agafay desert Quad were very amazing. We liked the food and music over there.
