The property is very new, clean and has all facilities you may need for one night stay. It is very close to the airport (about 5 minutes walk). The host was super nice and helpful. Very good location for anyone who has a morning flight - just a short 10 minute walk from the terminal and very few meters of the walk is on the actual road with cars. Big plus is that the apartment is completely silent - considering the airport is so close, i was amazed. Also, the hosts were very helpful and generous with sweet snacks (which we forgot to consume:). Recommended!

Catania is a fascinating city and we would have liked more time to visit all the places which are of interest from a historic and archaeological point of view but we had my grandson who was not a particularly fast walker so limited what we did. Lovely shops and the Christmas decorations and lights were really beautiful.
Catania is not only a city with many sights and a beautiful coastline, but also a good starting point for other attractive destinations (Etna, Siracusa, Taormina at least). Especially in winter, when the days are short, it is better to plan a longer stay.
It was dirty and crowded. The traffic was so chaotic and the public transportation was terrible. It was also a bit creepy and shady on some streets even though they were close to the city centre. What we liked, though, was the food and a part of the city centre where we also saw the Christmas market and some beautiful historical buildings.

I really liked the city center and botanic parks. There is a lot of lovely restaurants and cafes. Most people were nice and helpful. Unfortunately, some areas were dirty, what I noticed was the fact that there were only few bins, so there was a lot of garbage lying on the ground, which significantly spoiled the charm of the city. I would recomment Catania for a short 2-3 days trip.
Catania is a lovely city, worth a visit in January, which is when we went, the Saint Sebastian festival was taking place which was lovely to watch. Great pub called Joyce Irish Pub not far from the center, where they play live music and the staff are very friendly. Also if you like steak - Steak House da Rino worth a visit. Central location to visit Syracuse and Taormina which is absolutely stunning and provides great views of Mount Etna, the ampitheatre and gardens worth a visit. Due to train strikes we took the bus to Syracuse which is just over an hour and the train to Taormina which is 55 mins, you then hop on the bus for the trip up the hill to the city itself which is around 1 EUR each. All in all a very lovely weekend away.
Although on a busy street in an unattractive area, it is very conveniently situated for travelers using CTA airport - we wheeled our roll-aways there in maybe 7 minutes. Arriving dead tired, with food in hand that we bought before leaving the airport, it was the best solution for an early night. It is a one-room studio that has everything you need, nicely and thoughtfully appointed. The owner was aware of our flight delay, when we called she came over with the key in less than ten minutes (there is no reception).
