I like everything about The Poacher, but especially the people who worked there, and particularly the managers: Jayne and Jon. Terrific people who went out of their way to make my stay an enjoyable one. I stayed in four other inns during this trip, and my stay at The Poacher was, by far, the nicest.

Pleasant restaurant; a tad expensive but good quality food and service.

1 bedroom flat in centre of Odiham- free parking is located in Odiham, just 11 miles from Jane Austen's House Museum and 13 miles from Frensham Great Pond and Common. The convienice to everything this small village has to offer. It was well appointed, very comfortable firm mattress, and quiet. I will book again on my next trip. The stairs to the attic bedroom are unique and require an open mind and able body.
Greywell (2 miles from RAF Odiham)
Annex at Southfields in idyllic Hampshire village offers accommodations in Greywell, 20 miles from Highclere Castle and 23 miles from Newbury Racecourse. brilliant location in the pretty peaceful village, with a close walk to the local pub which serves great food and has nice large garden with playground for kids. The annex had all we needed and the hosts were lovely when we met them, and very helpful with all we needed. we'd definitely stay here again.

Friendly welcome and upgrade to a double room for more space at same price set the tone of an enjoyable stay. The associated pub was a friendly environment to spend the evening and did excellent evening meals and breakfasts. Will definately look out for Green King hotels again.

Since I grew up in Odiham it brought back memories of being in the quaint little village of Odiham the village itself doesn’t off absolutely everything you would need during a little staycation however Basingstoke is only 15 minutes up the road and does have pretty much everything you would require. I do highly recommend a walk to the Canal it is absolutely beautiful and with the sunshine it’s quite the sight you simply cannot go wrong!
Stayed for a wedding nearby. This was a great choice. Really cosy chic place, lots of period features with on site parking and lots of amenities. Couldn’t fault it, shower was amazing and the restaurant downstairs is also fabulous. Highly recommend it.
Odiham is at the heart of King John territory, bags of Historical connections , very atmospheric centre to explore North Hampshire and the Eating Houses are all excellent- from proper French Crepes to fine dining- superb quality.
