Set in Shimoda, 35 km from Kumamoto Castle and 36 km from Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei, 南あその丘 offers air conditioning. The location of the house with such beautiful scenery was the highlight. We utilized the BBQ on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed and it was quite nice to have. The view while grilling of the volcano was really nice. The home was clean and the kitchen and dining area was quite large. There is a washing machine that also dries the clothes which made it nice to not have to pack so much. The tub was quite sophisticated where you can set the temperature and it would automatically fill. It is good to note that the home is located in the geo park so there are no grocery stores nearby so it is good to get your BBQ supplies and food before arriving to the home.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Located 41 km from Mount Aso, Kurokawa Mori No Kiki offers accommodation in Minamioguni with access to a hot tub. This villa is 49 km from Kinrinko Lake and 8.8 km from Hacchobaru Power Station... We travelled to Kurokawa onsen Mori No Ki Ki by driving from Kumamoto, it took us about 2 hr. The staff (or the owner) was so kind and willing to facilitate and keen to support us nicely. We were so much impressed and appreciated. The house was so clean, the onsen was good. Home made bread was excellent. We suggest the visitor should come before the evening as to see the sign clearly. The sign showing the accommodation name a bit small comparing to the others, so you may miss when it is dark. The rest are excellent, if you like peace and relax with warm heart, you may like this one.
