Set in Shimoda, 35 km from Kumamoto Castle and 36 km from Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei, 南あその丘 offers air conditioning. The location of the house with such beautiful scenery was the highlight. We utilized the BBQ on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed and it was quite nice to have. The view while grilling of the volcano was really nice. The home was clean and the kitchen and dining area was quite large. There is a washing machine that also dries the clothes which made it nice to not have to pack so much. The tub was quite sophisticated where you can set the temperature and it would automatically fill. It is good to note that the home is located in the geo park so there are no grocery stores nearby so it is good to get your BBQ supplies and food before arriving to the home.

Set 49 km from Kinrinko Lake and 8.8 km from Hacchobaru Power Station Museum, Kurokawa Mori No Kiki is situated in Kurokawa Onsen district of Minamioguni. Everything was very well organized and well provided for. The whole stay was very comfy & my kids wished we could have stayed longer. Tanaka was very helpful & answered all our queries & even made a reservation for a very good yakiniku dinner for us. I loved the creamy milk provided & fresh bread in the morning. There was a lovely BBQ on the verandah. Perhaps the hosts can offer an option to provide meats & vegetables/rice for a fee so guests can do a BBQ if they are too lazy to drive out for dinner? Excellent stay! The onsen was a huge bonus too!

The house is stylishly furnished and has a beautiful view to the valley and the Aso mountains.

What a wonderful 5 night stay we had in this beautiful guest house. We loved it so much we even stayed 'home' one day! Close to Kumamoto but felt a world away. Our generous hosts looked after us so well.

The cabin is comfortable, well equipped and nicely furnished. A nice bonus is the pot belly stove fireplace and we used it every night.

Minami Aso Guest House Hana hana - Vacation STAY 13316 is located in Takamori, 32 km from Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto, 41 km from Suizenji Park, and 42 km from Kumamoto Castle. The rooms have facilities that are suitable for families. The owner is very nice and enthusiastic to guide us in English. We are very impressed and will definitely come back if we have the chance.

Set in Kami Amakusa in the Kumamoto region, Minshuku Hiro - Vacation STAY 84405v features accommodation with free private parking. It’s very spacious. You can see the bay while taking a shower. The living room is connected to the restaurant. The restaurant is usually not very busy, but if the noise bothers you, you can go upstairs. We stayed in the living room since it didn’t bother us at all. The owners are extremely nice. They actually took our son on a fishing trip on their boat and cooked the fish our son caught. The last night of our stay, we did fireworks with the owners and neighbors kids. It was so much fun. This place reminds me of Minshuku I used to stay with my parents. We fully enjoyed our stay there.
