The room was a perfect retreat! The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The hotel itself has a quirky charm that makes it feel warm and inviting. Plus, the breakfast spread was plentiful, offering something to satisfy every taste.
Excellent location, directly opposite the amazing Monasterio de Sta Catalina and a short walk to virtually anywhere in the historic city core. Room was clean and comfortable, but not a luxury hotel - good value for money. Peaceful roof terraces with great views and comfortable seating, and even gas heaters. Breakfast was OK - not spectacular but no complaints. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
We absolutely loved our stay at Villa San José. We stayed five nights in total as we were so comfortable there. Bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable, and facilities in the house such as the kitchen are great, we felt right at home. The host was very kind and accommodating, letting us store bags during a trip and after check out. The house is about a 15-20 minute walk from the historic centre, but this did not matter as the suburb is such a lovely place to stay and explore. We would have stayed even longer if we could!!

Bathrobes were a nice touch of luxury.
Shower has nice warm water (takes a little while, but be patient and it will come).
TV worked well & mini fridge was useful to keep water nice & cold.
Room temperature as very clean
The hotel is beautiful. It is characterful and charming so if you are looking for modern luxury this might not be the place for you. We absolutely loved it . Bougainvillea and geraniums fill private courtyards and most rooms have a balcony of some sort. The breakfast area is enchanting. In terms of location you can’t do better. It is a short walk to the Place de Armes and the Cathedral and all the local museums.
The location of the hotel is the best! It’s right by the plaza and it’s close to everything. The hotel is a mansion converted into a hotel which is beautiful. The beds are very comfortable, so we slept really well. The staff are very nice and helpful.
