Super easy location as it was right beside the Westcoast Wilderness trail which we were biking.
Lovely old cottage, peaceful location. Friendly host who was welcoming in her emails and had good suggestions for what to do in Kumara.

Everything was thought of…down to the umbrellas and the extra towels for the hot tub, to the types of tea provided. The most gorgeous cabins with an amazing view. We loved it so much.
Perfect for families, groups or couples who enjoy luxury and independence while travelling. Enjoy the space and privacy of these fully-furnished, self-standing mansions — travellers can cook, lounge and explore at their leisure. Note that in Bali, a resort will also be called a villa.
This is a beautiful place which was presented in the most fabulous way. Clean, comfortable, luxurious & a wonderful view over the Tasman sea. Lots of lovely touches like several different teas, coffee & hot chocolate, delicious muesli, a barbecue & outside seating to enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine. The bathroom is luxurious & the whole package just wonderful. Highly recommend & wish we could have stayed longer.
The room bas very basic and clean. Towels clean, shower adequate. If you're looking for luxury this isn't the place. If you're looking for a good night sleep thumbs up. Toilets and showers are shared.
I’ve been visiting Global Village for years and it has maintained its reputation and high standards probably the best hostel in NZ
Very chill atmosphere good facilities clean and comfortable. Well stocked kitchen, clean room and bathroom plenty of safe parking
Highly recommended
Second time staying at the Global Village, and it's still one of the best hostels in NZ. It's clean, it's comfortable, it's got good vibes and it's quiet. It's a well run ship.
Truly a global village. It is visible in every way that the owners have travelled vastly and know what a traveller needs. There are several rooms available to rest, watch TV, use the library, play music. The kitchen is well equipped and spotless.
Very new, well sized although not very large and well finished. I would not say that the room was luxurious but it was well finished. The property is set on raised land some way from the ocean (with other properties and a highway between the ocean and the room) with a nice (but distant) view.
We appreciated the the friendly welcome, efficient check-in and extra touches like luxury towels, real pot plants.
Close to a lively pub that served reasonable meals.
Free kayaks, bikes, gym and sauna ( for a few dollars) but most enjoyable we’re the instruments in the lounge, there was a piano, 2 guitars and djembés ❤️ very comfy couches lots of little hide away sitting areas - I’m now in an other hostel and missing the vibe there was at Global Village. It was a true hostel-treasure
This is an excellent set of villas just outside Greymouth. Wonderful location, nice and quiet, dark skies and you can see and hear the native birds. The hosts are the owners and they really look after you. The villas are very clean, perfectly maintained, and spacious. Because we arrived on a Saturday, the hosts provide a dinner (extra cost) with other guests - great hospitality, but check this with the hosts to make sure it's being offered.
