The pool and area around it is really exceptional, i.e. very clean, large pool with nice area and shades around it, close to lake and the feeling of being close to nature in the peace and quiet.
Ruwan was helpful with arranging transport for us from our previous accommodation as well as onward travel. Kusal the driver who took us was wonderful , warm and friendly and I recommend asking for him by name.
Plus Ruwan offered to arrange trips which we didn't take him up on as . He arranged for Tuk Tuks to come and pick us up to take us to the rock also.
We had a great Sri Lankan curry buffet cooked by his lovely friendly wife one evening. Breakfast was also very nice ...fruit, roti, toast, tea/ coffee etc, more than enough really.
Inside of the room was clean and large.
Overall a very nice stay and I would recommend it, primarily for the peaceful location and amazing swimming pool....10 out of 10 for that.

Our time at the Kandalama Lodge was beautiful. We felt special from the beginning. Everything was clean and tidy, the interior and decoration was on point. The bathroom outside was a bliss. We stayed at the villa with a private pool which was luxury as well. We felt so at home! Madushan made sure that we had a nice trip to Dabula and organized a driver for us. He made sure that everything was perfect.
The food - try the Sri Lankan curry it is soo good- and the cocktails were amazing!

Peaceful, relaxing, quiet, clean. Set in a small private garden there are five villas surrounding a pretty and clean pool. Loved the cute private outdoor ensuites.

The location of Kandalama lodge is great if you want to visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigirya and Pidurangala.
The lodge is cleverly designed, and well maintained. The garden is a quiet oasis, peaceful and beautiful.
We stayed in both the deluxe villa with the private pool and the “regular” rooms. We enjoyed both.
The staff made our stay even better. I’ve never seen a manager, cook and helpers so attentive in my life. I rarely rate a stay a 10/10 but they deserve it.
The water villas at Liyya were fantastic. They were really spacious with a big bathroom with really comfortable beds and luxurious linen, we slept really well!
The staff were very accommodating and looked after us brilliantly, allowing us early check in after a long flight from London and a 3 hour drive from Colombo. The dining room overlooked the lake which was lovely.
The property is a whole villa that looks like a tent in a modern way. The villa inside is huge and clean, the bathroom is wonderful! The bed is super comfortable. Ac was working properly. All the villas are right next to a lake. Pure nature that surrounds you! Absolutely amazing. 100% connection with the nature. The staff is welcoming, helpful and polite. The breakfast is delicious! We also tried dinner there. Absolutely loved it!
