あんばええ, hotel in Nakatsugawa

あんばええ is a recently renovated holiday home in Kōyabayashi, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge.

It was really a very quiet place. And the whole place is huge! I think even for a family of 8 is ok, how much more so for a couple. It's also very well kept, very clean. Host was very very helpful.

Loved the location , the host offered to arrange a ‘meal’ of fish and vegetables prior to our arrival. This turned out to be an amazing meal at a small restaurant in the village. Such a treat

The ultimate Japanese experience! Beautiful old village. The staff were really accommodating and gave us good advice regarding the walks in the area, and the availability of local buses. We walked along the Nakasendo trail to Tsumago on the day of our arrival, and then to Ochiaijuku along the wonderful Ochiai stone path on our way back to Nakatsugawa. We had booked dinner in Magome Chaya as everything in the village closes at 5 pm, and this turned out to be a very varied and copious Japanese meal.

The hotel looks like a beautiful little village for preservation. We slept in a small house that is over 150 years old. The staff is lovely, always looking for ways to help. Dinner and breakfast were works of art.
