Night halt on our drive to Heathrow for a morning flight. We checked in past 10 pm and there was no issue. The place was clean and as seen in the pictures. Check out at 05.00 am was smooth.

Absolutely everything. From the friendly welcome from Fiona, location in the old town , the room was superb with luxury touches ie. Coffee bags toiletries . A fridge in the room to keep milk ( and wine ) cool . Lovely garden area to enjoy a tipple . What more can I say . I would definitely stay again if traveling south again . ( it was a stop over to break the journey) .
Having lived in the village for thirty years I had eaten and drunk in the establishment many time over the years. After moving away this was a return visit for one night. We had booked a petite double room but although nothing was said I suspect we may have been upgraded to a disability room perhaps in recognition of obvious age and walking ability. For this we were very grateful and comfortable appreciating the assistance aids that had been installed. (wall bars etc.) Staff friendly and professional. Dog friendly in room, bar and restaurant.

I messed up the booking by not specifying twin beds but the staff sorted it out and really looked after us, great breakfast. Didn't eat there in the evening but food looked really good. A cut above your normal pub stay.
The attention to detail with everything. It all felt very luxurious. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast was plentiful and cooked to perfection. We had an evening meal there and it was delicious and good value for money.
The location was set in a lovely village with plenty of amenities and close to many attractions.
Was fortunate to come across this gem of a place.
