The Old Endie Hoose Kirkwall Orkney, hotel in Kirkwall

Set in Kirkwall and only 16 km from Maeshowe, The Old Endie Hoose Kirkwall Orkney offers accommodation with quiet street views, free WiFi and free private parking.

Lovely property in the centre of town, a short walk from all local amenities and the bus station. Very comfortable and cosy without feeling small, and it was spotlessly clean! As we were there in Oct I was a little worried about how cold it might be as it's an old house, but it never felt cold. The beds were very comfortable. Our host, Donald, was very kind and even picked us up from the airport. Some milk, bread and a few local treats were waiting for us on arrival.

Shona and Billy were so friendly and helpful. The cottage is very comfortable and was toasty warm on arrival. Shona provided a lovely welcome pack including eggs, a home baked cake and various Orkney treats. It is located about halfway between Kirkwall and Stromness so is really handy for all the sites in the western mainland.

The Castleyards apartments are right in the heart of the village within walking distance to all the sights plus restaurants and grocery stores, etc. The apartment is compact but contains everything you need to enjoy your stay. The shower was a decent size and had excellent water pressure. The owners were responsive to questions.

everything! the owners have thought of every little thing a traveller could want or need, from snacks to dressing gowns and slippers, soft feather pillows, a luxurious duvet. it was the most comfortable B and B we’ve ever stayed in, and we were delighted we’d found it. and the breakfast was delicious too.

The cottage had everything we could have possibly needed, even a huge back garden, perfect for children to run around in. The owners were really nice and very helpful, even going to the trouble of keeping us up-to-date with the local travel news. The cottage is on the edge of the village, overlooking a loch where, during our stay, there were adult swans with their brood of cygnets. It was incredibly peaceful. We will definitely be back.
