We like being in the village, near our family . We appreciate the generosity of the host; they always leave dishwasher tablets, condiments, bin bags so for a short stay we don't have to buy all the basics. For the festive stay they added Christmas decorations and candles which felt very welcoming. The bedrooms are lovely and bedding and towels of good quality.

The house was perfect for our family with a shop and bus stop within walking distance. The suburb of Dalkeith was a short drive away with a beautiful park and a larger supermarket. We enjoyed being slightly outside the main center and a 25 minute drive into the city if needed. I really can't fault it at all. Thank you for the hospitality and wonderful communication.

Location was beautiful. Very quiet & scenic. We watched the wildlife which was plentiful. It was very easy to find with the instructions we were given. Gifford village had excellent facilities, especially the paper shop Hoggs which opened very early.
It afforded us a welcome 4 day break from continuous travel. It was comfortable, provided all necessary ammenities, excellent bed, clean and spacious. A welcome pack of snacks and soft drinks was provided along with endless condiments and fresh milk. The property is in range of many villages and country drives. The highland cows were a special extra.
The pub is in the most beautiful village. There was plenty of parking in the street right outside. It was very quiet and peaceful. The beds were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly. We had an excellent breakfast.
Michael could not have been more helpful to myself and my husband , who is blind . Our booking was very last minute and any worries i had were eased within 5 minutes of booking, Michael phoned to try accommodate our needs as best he could. (Stairs a bit tricky but we managed, and we already knew as Michael had spoken about them in our call) Much appreciated 👍
