This was the best place we stayed in Costa Rica. It has an amazing view of the volcano from the balcony. The food was good, including the breakfast which was such a convenient option in the morning. And the owners and employees were excellent professionals while also being friendly. A recommendation for those staying here. Take a sloth tour with Armando. Do it because sloths are very cool and it’s interesting to see them in a natural environment. But do it with Armando because the man has the craziest sloth spotting abilities. I can’t decide if the sloths or Armando’s spotting abilities were cooler. It was a great time. And Armando might show you some cool tips on taking photos.

Located 14 km from Arenal Volcano National Park, Lomas del Volcan offers lush gardens, an outdoor pool and a hot tub. Each air-conditioned cabin has free Wi-Fi and flat-screen cable TV. Stunning view of the volcano, great garden grounds and swimming pool. Liked the bungalow style rims, which give good privacy. Excellent restaurant

Centrally located in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca town centre and just a 3-minute walk from Salsa Brava Beach, Hotel Indalo adults only features an extensive garden, sun terrace and free Wi-Fi. The owner of Indalo was amazing! Very welcoming, polite, and kind. Fresh coffee was available every morning and drinking water throughout the day. He helped me with everything I needed during my stay and was very supportive during my checkout when I almost missed my flight. The hotel is within walking distance from everything in Puerto Viejo and offers free safe parking space. My room was safe and quiet, the air conditioner was working perfectly, and cleaned every day. I would definitely choose it in case of returning to Puerto Viejo!

Featuring an extensive garden, a sun terrace with swimming pool, spa treatments and free Wi-Fi throughout, this hotel is 10 minutes’ drive from the Arenal Volcano National Park and from La Fortuna... The hotel was a "horizontal" complex in that all rooms were at ground level with just two rooms per building and the buildings are scattered throughout the property. As the rooms were on ground floor the view was limited, I guess because of privacy concerns by just stepping out the the door the the Arenal volcano is right in front of you, an amazing view! The breakfast was a well stocked buffet and the a la carte restaurant was also very good. For a less formal atmosphere we tried the excellent Sushi bar at the pool that is open til 10pm. (There is also a pizza place but we didn't try them). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Tours are available at the hotel and we took one to the volcano and another to jungle tour with suspension bridges. Both were good but we preferred the jungle tour. The thermal water hot pool was a great place to relax after hiking and sightseeing. If you have a car and feel a little adventurous the "Rio Celeste" in the Tenorio Volcano National Park is worth the trip. Its about 90mins from the hotel but be aware that the walking trail in the park is about 5 to 6 Km to take in all the viewing points and places can be uneven. To get to the waterfall there are perhaps 200 steps down (and then back up again!)

Offering outdoor pool and a hot tub, Hotel Roca Negra Del Arenal is located in the suburbs of Fortuna. Free Wi-Fi access is available. Beautiful property, friendly staff, great location. Pool and jacuzzi were really pleasant.

Offering an outdoor swimming pool and a garden, Hotel El Jardin is located in Montezuma town centre and less than 100 meters from the beach. WiFi is available in public areas and is free of charge. Absolutely loved this spot. Great location right in downtown Montezuma. The pool and jacuzzi was clean, super relaxing, and I surprisingly had it all to myself under the stars. Wifi was decent, minifridge kept everything cool, and i loved that the windows weren’t able to let those walking past see in. Gabriel had wonderful recommendations.
