Quiet, secluded, with incredible beach and waterfall. My friend and I had the waterfall all to ourselves when we visited. The place is a backpacker scene but not at all crowded and felt very peaceful. We didn't take the motorcycles in or out and enjoyed the extra walk, but not much wildlife during that portion of the hike and that part is quite steep uphill.

I had a great 2 night stay here while I hiked Tayrona from the less crowded Calabazo entrance (which I recommend to all hiking enthusiasts). The staff was really sweet, the hotel was incredibly beautiful, with peacocks and parrots flying around and flowers everywhere, and the food at the restaurant was excellent! I swam in the pool every evening and had a very calm, relaxing time. The staff was really nice to me despite me not knowing any Spanish at all.

The property is perfect, the house is spacious and clean. The pool is great for kids. The gardens are well kept with a rich variety of plants and trees. Jair and his wife are so nice and available to help. There is a river behind the house that is worth exploring.

In general, the online description of the trail is not accurate. You are crossing a mountain range.... steep ups and downs followed by a steep down to the resort. Trails are not to U.S./Canada standards especially when one adds in the fact that horse/burrow traffic is a necessity for supplies. Hope for no precipitation.
