Very welcoming hosts, they want to provide the best service out there. Delicious fried banana desert! Free coffee in the morning:) View to the mountains, far away from the road and people. So it’s very quiet.

It feels like finding a hidden gem, really. The Cabin is spacious and comfortable, the view is remarkable. It’s really a shame that we only stayed here for one night, I would definitely extend my trip if I had more free days!! What’s very special about this place is the manager & staff, we didn’t expect to be greeted so kindly. There’s a lot of snacks and food provided on the cabin, they even managed to provide bonfire for us to chat and listen to music at night. Bli Putu brought us to the near hot spring, and it was perfect. The morning after he guided us on a morning stroll around the village while telling us the history behind each places.

Mount Batur sunrise hike is amazing, although expensive.
Mount Batur sunrise hike is amazing, although expensive. Takes about two hours of walking to get up, it is quite tough. You can pay to go up on a motorcycle. The village has hot springs, there’sa lava field and a bat cave nearby

Not worth visiting the area in my opinion - really dirty...
Not worth visiting the area in my opinion - really dirty area, smell of burning plastic everywhere, very little restaurants, where they try to bargain with you for the meal prices. We walked into a restaurant on the main road and the waitress said there was no menu...then she offered us a buffet lunch, when I asked the price she wrote it on the paper as 100 000 IDR per person, we got up saying it's too expensive and she immediately offered to lower the price to 80 000 per person (we left anyway). The lake is accessible but you can't swim there because of the metal constructions all around the shore (fishing constructions). Because the area is so poor, they will try to make you pay extra for everything - 500 000 per person for a boat ride, 500 000 per person for a hike up Mount Batur... To be honest, the hike wasn't all worth it either, it wasn't anything special. I'd imagined an idyllic mountain scenery when booking our stay for 4 nights but we ended up leaving earlier because it was so frustrating being there. I wouldn't recommend the area - maybe for a day trip from Ubud to do the sunrise hike but that's about it.
