The staff we’re amazing. They were helpful. They knew all the local spots gave us some insight on things that we should see that we weren’t even on our list. Definitely recommend location was perfect.

The kitchen was equipped to cook any type of meal. The view was excellent. Having a washing machine was wonderful to have. The shower had great pressure and hot water. Having 1.5 baths was a plus.

The room was very clean and updated.. We only stayed 1 night, arrived late, and left early the next day.. so we didn't eat at the restaurant or notice the rest of the facilities. The location was perfect to where we needed to be!! There is a pub attached to the hotel, and my hubby enjoyed having a beer w the locals!

This is a beautiful hotel, inside and out, with charming bed and breakfast vibes. The room and en suite bathroom were beyond comfortable and clean. I arrived exhausted (and dusty) after a long day in the Highlands, much later than anticipated, and needed to be in pajamas immediately. The staff helped carry my bags to the third floor and got me checked in right away. They also allowed me to order dinner in the lobby and have it brought up to my room. The bed was supremely comfortable, and the room had everything I needed. I enjoyed an awesome meal and got a great night's sleep. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I was traveling with someone else who could split the cost and make the value a bit better.

we arrived around 3pm on the Thursday, there was a note on the door to tell you where to go to pick up keys and that check in wasn't until 4pm. We went to see if there was a chance of checking in early but there was no one there. we went to see if the attatched bar/restaurant was open to get a drink but that didn't open until 4.30pm, we went to another nearby bar where we had a couple of drinks and a lovely chat with the barman. We went back again around 4.10pm and there was still no one there we were about to go out again when a lady appeared, she gave us our room key and slips for breakfast, we went tour room which was in the eaves of the house room was very small and cramped the tea and coffe tray was on a chair below the hangers for your clothes/coats which wasn't ideal. We went into the ajoined bar had a couple of drinks and had a look at the menu

The bed had seen better days as the springs had gone and were very uncomfortable and noisy with little movement. The floorboards also were very noisy from upstairs and when moving around the room.

A great breakfast. The staff could not do enough for you from serving you at breakfast to taking your drinks orders from your table. Spotlessly clean room with ensuite and sea view. I would highly recommend.

Scenery was nice.
Scenery was nice. You definitely need a car as a lot of walking and also you are depending on transport, which is unreliable. No shops only the Coop. If you have no car you have to walk over two bridges and back to get food. A few restaurants.Didn’t realise how far the guest house from the station was. We walked it in bad weather and it took us nearly 40 mins. It was definitely an experience. It’s a day visit place or a base to drive to other places.

The shops do get overrun by tourists often so can be difficult to get basic needs when coachloads of people are trying to get trinkets and tatt. But the views from everywhere on this island are stunning, no matter where. Kyleakin is just the first of many on your journey round.
Cute and Cozy house located close to the Skye Bridge. The hosts lived right next door and were so warm and quick to respond to any request. Even greeted us on arrival and welcomed us to their home. I would highly recommend this for people visiting Isle of Skye. The only issue would be the bedrooms on the first floor which could be a problem for people with mobility issues who can’t walk up and down stairs.
The Strathspey is certainly within the top 3 accommodations I have stayed in during 30 years of frequent world travel. The hospitality is unparalleled, relaxed and incredibly professional all at once. I could not recommend this place more highly. Don’t miss a chance to stay here while on the Isle of Skye, and fit in a visit to Eilean Donan Castle and the village of Dornie while you’re at it!
I liked everything, great position of hotel, easy to get over to Kyle of Lochalsh, room was excellent for a solo traveller,WIFI in room was good, took a bit of fiddling to get the hot water in shower, but once i worked out how to do it all was fine😁, would have no hesitation booking this hotel again for my next Skye trip👍
