The hotel is on a highway, so it very noisy. The staff is very nice and they try to keep you comfortable. The beach opposite the hotel is dirty, so if you are looking for a beach side property, this is not recommended. Overall average hotel not recommended for a family trip.

Definitely worth a visit. The museums were a good insight into the area. Lots of choices of eating places and shopping. The views from the wall were great, a good vantage point to view sunset. Plenty to do to keep busy or just chill at one of the many cafe’s.

From our hotel it was easy to walk around the whole Fort and to all the historical monuments, restaurants, cafes, shops, art galleries, jewellers etc. There are lots of good restaurants to try in and around the interesting lanes. Our favourite restaurant was The Merchant/ 1710. Galle Fort is a beautiful town.

The old fort area was great.
The old fort area was great. Lovely bars were the Ivy and Tap bar. Tuk Tuk drivers at the entrance were a pest we took an one hour trip for 1500.00 rupees, but when we didn’t take him up on the jewellery shop, taxi to airport etc etc he turned nasty shortened our trip to half an hour and got stropy. This puts tourists off visiting they won’t take no for an answer. Most places we visited were fine but Galle fort wasn’t one of them. Shame as it has a lot of history and a lot to see in the old town. The pollution in the river was shocking so many plastic bottles.

This is the best place in Sri Lanka if you just want a relaxing and/or indulgent holiday. So many things to do. Perfect for a honeymoon or honeymoon-like experience. There's a touch of culture/history. Use as a base if you want more adventure. I did a Lanka cooking course :-)

Enjoyed the Fort and the Tea Plantation visit, but didn't have enough time to explore further. A lot of tourists in this area, and a lot of shops catering specifically for them. Had some great food and experiences while there.

Indika is a passionate owner and manager, who serves his customers with great care in this, his personally own created, guesthouse. This is not a chic boutique hotel, but a small, simple and personal ‘home’, coming as a reasonably low cost, perfect for backpackers who would enjoy basically ‘sleeping on top of the waves’. You will not be closer to the beautiful waters of Sri Lanka. Food, service, WiFi, beds are excellent!
Luxurious room for a very reasonable price. The best breakfast we had out of all hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka. Room is very clean and tidy with all basic amenities such as mini fridge, locker etc. The bed was so comfy with clean linen. Specious and clean both rooms. Galle Fort is just 3 minutes tuktuk ride from the villa. Service was excellent. All in all, the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka in our entire trip.
Lovely colonial hotel in the heart of historic Galle! Standard rooms are small but very nice and comfortable. Shower was great, good pressure. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was kettle for tea/coffee, drinking water and ice available. We ordered Sri Lankan breakfast and it was delicious, with fresh coconut roti, dahl, eggs, fresh fruit salad, curd…
I stayed here whilst travelling solo, first time in Sri Lanka, Galle. This is a family business located in the heart of Galle Fort, at a walking distance from restaurantes, caffes, beach and shops. They were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The room is great, has AC and a fan, small balcony and they provide towels. I recommend staying here 100%
The location is just at the entrance of Galle Fort, the old city. And there are many Tuk-tuks outside the hotel, so it's convenient to go anyplace you like. And the hotel offer the best Sri Lanka style breakfast. You can basically get any local food you want.
