The property is on peddlers St. which is my favourite street in Galle Fort. Its a cosy placed tucked away with quick access to the ocean and other locations. I really enjoyed the comforts of my room. The room and bathroom was very clean. It stayed in the room that goes up the spiral stairway near the reception. The staff and owner are super nice and helpful. The breakfast I had was wonderful. I'd definitely come back here. Though I was a solo traveller..I observed that families were there enjoying the place too

Don’t stay in low season - too far from town, nothing open nearby to eat etc … definitely no yoga was happening so only stayed one night as great taxi cost to get there and then back into town. Didn’t realise air con was extra cost (not even offered to me - I was told the air con was not working, no remote in the room). Couldn’t sleep as the fan was not cool enough ….

An unexpected stay! We had to replan our trip last minute due to a cancellation on a connecting flight. We had plans to get to Kandy / Ella, but they were all scuppered. But we found ourselves in Galle, where we had wanted to visit but knew our initial plans would not afford. So as they say, every cloud....
The Green Casa is a beauty to behold. A 150 year Dutch merchant villa that's been redesigned - keeping the old features in tact, with nostalgia added from an age long gone and the feel of the old colonial days. There has been a lot of respect in maintaining the history of the architecuture. Old pictures taken by the owner bring to light the history of communities in Sri Lanka.
We arrived to Mohan, who gave is the warmest Sri Lankan. He looks after the property and the guests there, and made us feel so welcomed. We arrived to welcome drinks, and felt so spoilt during our 2 night stay. They somehow knew that we had a difficult trip to get there, and even if they didn't, we felt they knew.

My one-week stay at Niyagama House was fabulous with the high standards the facility offers, the green with all those bird sounds in the morning mesmerized me. It was also so relaxing for my body and soul doing meditation & yoga with Elke every day, nourishing myself with the great food from the restaurant. GALLE FORT is great for a one day visit.
GALLE FORT is great for a one day visit. The town is small and some shops are repetitive, with the same items for sale, but there are a few unique shops and restaurants which make a visit worthwhile.
Sunsets are beautiful; walk along the top of fort walls. Take a tuk tuk to the local fish market just outside of town for vibrant local life and walk back. We stayed overnight which made the visit more relaxing.

This Building is 400 years Old and in all our Travels of 30 years we have never lived in such a Colonial Building. The staff compliments the story behind this Colonial Masterpiece and they were Excellent. Service, Quality, Food and Drinks. It was a very Personalized experience living here because the hotel only has 11 rooms. We booked the Suite which was very spacious, Comfortable and Beautiful.
Everything! Our stay was amazing, we were looked after so well by brilliant staff, and the accommodation is interesting and lovely. Breakfast was fantastic, the Sri Lankan hoppers were our favourite. Hotel organised a great tuk tuk driver too who took us around Galle, we really enjoyed our stay, they even made us a packed breakfast for our early morning train to Columbo - really kind and thoughtful. Thank you so much for making our holiday so special
A beautiful decorated boutique hotel in a good location away from the busy part of the fort but walkable all around. All the staff were very friendly and always happy to help with anything. It was good to see the hotel is making an effort to reduce the use of plastic - water bottles and toiletries. Sri Lankan breakfast was very filling and tasty.
From the minute we checked in we knew we had made the right choice for our stay in Galle. The hotel is beautiful and spotlessly clean and we enjoyed the hot showers too. Breakfast is available for £4 and is exceptional. Definitely one of our favourite hotels so far during our stay in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended.
