The property and staff was great. The rooms were large, clean and updated. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had plenty of options. There wasn’t much of a view from the room itself, but overall loved it and would come back!

This is a wonderful place the host Mathilda was lovely and accommodating.
The location is great and we don’t need to go anywhere to enjoy the beach and it’s a walking distance to the city center.
There’s a private parking but also public parking it’s free.
Breakfast was great and with options.

The hotel was centrally located with its own parking spaces. Everything was within walking distance, sea, bars, restaurants , shops etc. The room was very spacious with huge balcony facing the sea and great views especially the sunsets. The bed was very good size and very comfortable. The shower was great with nice hot water 24/7. The breakfast was very good too. There was lot of choices for both vegetarians and non vegetarians and catered for all .

Everything was walkable. For example we ate at a restaurant in local area, run by a Canadian lady. It was called Green Life market - very popular so book in advance. We located in Sarande for few days as it is central to visit various places of interests, like Blue Eye, Butrint, Gjirokaster, Kduit bridge and the canyon- around Permet, Vjose ( great views), Ksamil, Lekuresit Castle etc.

A get away town from all the crazy happenings in the world, organic and soil grown food for food lovers and i bet you will love every dish, fresh fruits, fish, sea foods.
With your google translator active you will enjoy this lovely place with the mountain view and beauty of nature.
Do not get a vodafone sim, you will not be able to hotspot to share internet with your fellow traveller. Get the local network called One, it is way better than vodafone.
Summer is the best time to be in Serande as most businesses will be open for business for you to explore the dishes.
Ensure you go for the boat tour and go with Lily tours, i recommend them because i used them and they are very friendly and fun.

Sarande is pretty vibrant city with a lot of restaurants, bars, cafeterias, tavernas etc. There is also couple of beaches, that might be bit overcrowded during the summer season. We were in Sarande at the beginning of September and there was still a lot of tourists compared to e.g. Ksamil, that seems to be a bit quieter.
As Sarande is popular holiday destination, there is a lot of restaurants and bars, everybody finds the one that suits him the best. We liked to go to Taverna Rrapo (very nice staff and delicious meals, variety of seafood) and Taverna Laberia, but I recommend to visit also local small bistros and restaurant and try Albanian food.
Once there, I recommend also to make a trip to Blue Eye and Butrint archeological site (UNESCO World Heritage Site), it's better to visit both early in the morning (till 9 am) to avoid a lot of tourist and high temperatures.

There's not a lot to around nearby, but you won't be bored...
There's not a lot to around nearby, but you won't be bored if you're willing to drive a bit further. Sarandë's beach is not worth going there for just that. There's a lot of cute beaches around, but probably inland you'll find more things to do/nature to explore. If you happen to be in Sarandë, check out Butrint and Ksamil, for sure!

Only stayed one night in Sarandë. Had a nice meal and drinks on the promenade. A lot of restaurants and shops. Lots to do and entertainment everywhere. Nice harbour with nice ships, some with cruise discos.

A place to be treated as a money cow. All beaches are private and you’ll have to pay for an umbrella if you want to stay. The city itself it’s not pretty, only the beaches are but still there is always loud music, every inch of the beaches are cover with umbrellas and beds, “owners” are very rude if you don’t wish to stay. The food is not great and there’s no hint of an urban planning. Also very expensive compared to other city’s of Albania

Everything was perfect. The staff, the apartments were amazing. If you want to stay in Saranda, you won't be able to find better places than this. You are far from the noise of discos in Saranda. The first two nights of our stay we were in a hotel in the center of Saranda and the noise of the discotheques did not let you sleep. In the amazing apartment we found the peace we were looking for. We will definitely come back to you.
We stayed at Hotel Gjika for few days and we are really happy for being there. We loved the view! We loved the kindest of Vani. He was helping us a lot in a time we got sick. If you need a place in Saranda, go there. We really felt welcome.
