Everything was great! The hotel was very nice and in line with the spirit of Kotor. We felt like we were in a fairy tale. The staff was very kind and helpful. They arranged our airport transfer and helped us with everything. The hotel was really clean and our room was cleaned every day. It was great that we could make our own coffee in the room. This was a winter visit- Kotor in February is lovely.
This was a winter visit- Kotor in February is lovely. Apparently, summer brings huge crowds and cruise ships- so pick your time or year and preferred experience. Plenty of restaurants open even in Feb., and the walk up to the Fort just has to be better as a cool-weather experience!
Try taking the city bus over to Tivat- spectacular bus ride.
Also theer is a sky way just outside town which would be worth trying (I ran out of time)!
In summer, Kotor would NOT be my sort of place- but others might like the atmosphere

Beautiful bay, not too busy this time of year but I would imagine during summer it’s heaving, take a speedboat tour out into the bay to the small islands. Then there is the old walled town which is fantastically in original condition, the mountains are around you everywhere.
Kotor is truly a beautiful place.

Great town especially once cruise hordes leave at end of yeh day. Extraordinary drive to the royal capital up a 25 switchback road. Best views in Europe. Love villages and towns right around the fjords. Much to explore

The Bay of Kotor is just beautiful.
The Bay of Kotor is just beautiful. I would advise staying around the Bay a bit away from the city itself. The Old City can get very busy and over run with tourists unfortunately, especially when the cruise ships are in. It’s much nicer to stay further around the Bay away from the crowds. It’s also a perfect location to use as a central point to visit other areas like Herceg Novi as you can scoot across in a ferry to the other side for a few dollars.
Be aware if you have a car that Kotor streets are narrow and not really set up to accommodate the amount of traffic that is using them so you can get stuck in a lot of traffic jams in the city itself. As mentioned if you stay further around the bay on the opposite side to Kotor you will find lovely accommodation right on the water and great restaurants with far fewer people & can watch the boats and cruise ships pass.
The ride up the Kotor Cable Car is a MUST. Extraordinary and breathtaking views over the entire Bay system. Well worth the spend.

The views of the Bay of Kotor were stunning and the pool was a great bonus for us, the apartment is fairly high up a steep hill however is about a 15-20 minute walk from the old town so was still a really convenient location. The property also has parking spaces if you choose to rent a car which is extremely handy in Montenegro. The host Marko was very friendly and welcoming, he lives next door to the property but it never felt as though he was in the way at all and I found him to be very helpful.
Everything was just perfect. A delightful 5 star hotel located on the water's edge. The superior room was very comfortable and we had a balcony overlooking the bay with splendid views.
The breakfast was plentiful and tasty, with a very good choice of hot dishes. .
I must mention the outstanding reception team who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable.
A 20 minute walk along the beautiful, picturesque promenade to reach Kotor old town.
Highly recommended.
Excellent hotel! We liked everything - location, cleanliness, staff. The hotel is quiet, clean and peaceful. Stunning views of the lake and mountains. Tasty breakfast. Close enough to the Old Town on foot along the promenade or on bicycles (rented at the hotel). We really enjoyed our every day in Montenegro and definitely recommend Alkima hotel if you want to stay in Kotor❤️
Comfortable apartment in pedestrian old town, just inside one of the city gates. Super nice hosts made check in easy, the apartment was spacious and clean, with everything we needed. Parking can be hard to find (or expensive) in Kotor, but Marko went with us to find a space for free, then helped us get our luggage into the hotel. He also gave us guidance for sight seeing.
Perfect location. Beautiful one bedroom apartment for the three of us. It was light, airy and comfortable. We had a gorgeous view looking up to the fort which I imagine is quite rare in old town Kotor. The setting is stunning. Our host was very helpful and friendly. In fact the people of Montenegro were really nice.
