Beautiful bay, not too busy this time of year but I would imagine during summer it’s heaving, take a speedboat tour out into the bay to the small islands. Then there is the old walled town which is fantastically in original condition, the mountains are around you everywhere.
Kotor is truly a beautiful place.

I absolutely loved Kotor with its scenery, the back drop from my apartment was out of this world.
I stayed for 3 whole days just outside the old town in Dobrota but wish I had more time to explore mount Lovcen’s national park.

Great town especially once cruise hordes leave at end of yeh day. Extraordinary drive to the royal capital up a 25 switchback road. Best views in Europe. Love villages and towns right around the fjords. Much to explore

The Bay of Kotor is just beautiful.
The Bay of Kotor is just beautiful. I would advise staying around the Bay a bit away from the city itself. The Old City can get very busy and over run with tourists unfortunately, especially when the cruise ships are in. It’s much nicer to stay further around the Bay away from the crowds. It’s also a perfect location to use as a central point to visit other areas like Herceg Novi as you can scoot across in a ferry to the other side for a few dollars.
Be aware if you have a car that Kotor streets are narrow and not really set up to accommodate the amount of traffic that is using them so you can get stuck in a lot of traffic jams in the city itself. As mentioned if you stay further around the bay on the opposite side to Kotor you will find lovely accommodation right on the water and great restaurants with far fewer people & can watch the boats and cruise ships pass.
The ride up the Kotor Cable Car is a MUST. Extraordinary and breathtaking views over the entire Bay system. Well worth the spend.

Old town is stunning but 100% tourist town.
Old town is stunning but 100% tourist town. The rest of Kotor is not that nice, but ok. It is very expensive considering its location.
The scenery is stunning, mountains and sea... but the traffic is terrible and very poluting.
Dinner here cost more than in many Western Europe places.

It was an awasome accommodation! Every was perfect! The location is very good. It is very close to the city center and old town. The is a big super market near it. The view from the balcony is perfect! The house is well decorated and every detail has been thought. You don't need to bring anything except belongings. Ana and her husband are wonderful and very thoughtful hosts. They helped us in every problem regarding Montenegro. Additionally, thank you for the small present! I look forward to stay there again!
The views of the Bay of Kotor were stunning and the pool was a great bonus for us, the apartment is fairly high up a steep hill however is about a 15-20 minute walk from the old town so was still a really convenient location. The property also has parking spaces if you choose to rent a car which is extremely handy in Montenegro. The host Marko was very friendly and welcoming, he lives next door to the property but it never felt as though he was in the way at all and I found him to be very helpful.
Location - extremely central in the old town.
Staff - very friendly and assisted us with luggage, booking tours, etc. Top tip - if arriving by car, ask the driver to call the hotel in advance and someone will assist with bringing luggage into the old town.
Breakfast - great spread, very friendly staff.
Room - very large but a few items could be improved - see below.
Fabulous host on arrival. Had a room ready even though we were early for check in.
Apartment was so clean and the communication about cleaning/change of towels mid way through our stay was good.
Beautifully clean apartment- had everything we needed for a weeks stay.
In a great location for restaurants, the old town, accessing buses to the rest of Montenegro.
It was walking distance to the old town. A perfect base to explore Montenegro.
The place was cozy and clean.
The owners communication and updates were exemplary.
