We booked a junior suite, and upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the very friendly staff, who guided us to our room. However, once we arrived at the room, we immediately noticed a very strong smell of cigarettes. I reported this to the front desk, and they sent someone to spray the room in an attempt to remove the odor. Unfortunately, the smell remained very noticeable.
Since I was traveling with my pregnant wife, staying in that room was not an option. About 15 minutes later, the hotel manager, Durcun, called our room and informed me that he had a better alternative—a room without the smell of smoke. He personally came up to escort me and showed me the new room he had mentioned.
Not only did he resolve the issue efficiently, but he also upgraded us to a much better room with an even nicer view. He sincerely apologized, explaining that although smoking is not allowed, some guests still do it, making it difficult to completely remove the smell right away. He also mentioned that eliminating the odor properly requires special equipment and takes time.
Thanks to the room switch, our stay was much more enjoyable.
Additionally, the breakfast was excellent!

There is so much to see in Istanbul, with astonishing historical sights and ancient buildings and the most amazing markets with great lamps, tiles, towels and copper ware. Staying in Fatih / Sultanahmet, we were right on the doorstep of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, the Grand Bazaar and the cisterns but also within walking distance of the Galatea tower, Beyoglu and Taksim Square. Eating out couldn't be simpler with great grilled meats and seafood everywhere. Location appears to drive price more than anything and there are plenty of little places off the tourist trail that serve great food but it is well worth finding a terrace restaurant on Pera overlooking the Golden Horn for a sunset meal.

Istanbul is a melting pot, there's an Asian side (Kadikoy) , European side (Beyoglu) and there's the traditional heritage side to the city. Infact, it's not a city but a subcontinent in itself with myriad dynamics to it.

Istanbul is a place that is full of life and interesting experiences. The Basilica Cistern is a must for any visitor, as is a trip on the tram and tunnel from Karakoy to Sishane. The Museum of Innocence is great if you have read the book. Buy a Simit from a street vendor and take a trip on the ferry across the Bosphorus to Kadikoy to see the sights of the Asian side of the city.

Istanbul is a city like no other—a mesmerizing blend of history, culture, and modern vibrancy. Straddling two continents, this enchanting metropolis seamlessly weaves the rich tapestry of its past with the dynamic pulse of the present.
From the awe-inspiring domes of **Hagia Sophia** and the grandeur of **Topkapi Palace** to the breathtaking **Blue Mosque**, every corner of Istanbul tells a story of empires, sultans, and timeless beauty. Wandering through the **Grand Bazaar** is an adventure in itself, with its labyrinth of colorful stalls brimming with exotic spices, handcrafted textiles, and dazzling jewelry.
But Istanbul is more than its historical treasures—it's a city that thrives on contrasts. Take a ferry across the **Bosphorus**, and you'll witness the stunning fusion of Europe and Asia, modern skyscrapers standing proudly beside ancient minarets. Enjoy a traditional **Turkish tea** by the water, savor the flavors of **meze and kebabs**, or indulge in the city's vibrant nightlife in **Beyoğlu and Karaköy**.
Beyond its architectural wonders and culinary delights, what truly sets Istanbul apart is its soul. The warmth of its people, the echoes of the call to prayer, and the bustling energy of its streets make it an unforgettable experience. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a foodie, or a lover of breathtaking landscapes, Istanbul is a city that will capture your heart and leave you longing to return.
A visit to Istanbul isn’t just a trip—it’s an immersion into a city where past and present dance in perfect harmony.

We were passing through Istanbul, so we needed a hotel that was close to Taksim Square, Istiklal Street and also the Havaist point to the airport. Everything came together perfectly here. The location is very convenient.
The staff is polite and responsive, always in touch, also very understanding, they approached the fact that we arrived early. Despite the fact that check-in was later, they checked us in earlier, which was very convenient. Inside the small room there is enough space, air conditioning, kitchen and cooking utensils.
We had the best experience staying at Marius Hotel Sirkeci in Istanbul. I would give more than 5 stars for the location of the hotel—tourist spots and tram stations are just a short walk away. Hats off to their hospitality! The staff is fluent in English, and room service is prompt. I would highly recommend this hotel without hesitation if you’re looking to explore Istanbul.
In my opinion its the best location that you can get. Taksim square literally 3-4 mins walk which connects you with all the other parts of Istanbul.
Very very clean hotel with the best personnel. The guys at reception are very helpful especially if you are looking for ideas and cheaper rates for taxi and the cleaner is the most positive guy that you will meet.
One of the best hotels I have stayed in throughout my last 20 years travel, all taxi drivers of istanbul know where is Akgun Hotel, the room is big, clean, and very cosy. The breakfast is so diverse and so delicious, specially this royal honey with nuts, not to mention 7 kind of cheese...5 stars is not enough for this amazing hotel.
This stay was an emergency stay because of 1st May. Our main hotel was at Taksim square, the centre of Istanbul. Because of the 1st May celebrations the centre was closed so we were forced to search for a hotel close to the airport. Location is 20 minutes from airport.
