Hotel Local 101 was the perfect choice for a night in Reykjavik. The location is very convenient, just a short walk from the city center. The building has a charming old-style exterior with a fully renovated, modern interior. The room upgrade was a pleasant surprise, and everything was stylish, clean and new. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was enjoyable. Overall, we had a great stay. Excellent price-quality ratio—highly recommended!

Great city, great food, nice people - although I was surprised of the amount of tourists/people to such a small island. Living/food was surprisingly expensive - but you can also eat and live cheaper there in case you want. I would definitely recommend visiting Iceland (and Reykjavik included).

We love Iceland and Reykjavik.
We love Iceland and Reykjavik. We have been twice now and did prefer the summer, although Christmas was lovely and festive. In winter, definitely take a Northern Lights tour. It was a highlight of our trip.

Reykjavik at Christmas time is beautiful Locals and cafe staff are very friendly and speak excellent English. There were too many tourists - ourselves included. I recommend a website that indicates the amount of tourists in Reykjavik and visiting Iceland so that travelers can pick the best time for their visit

One of my favorite places in the world, though a lot more crowded and expensive than last time I was there a few years ago. So much to do in Reykjavik--Hallgrimskirkja, restaurants and shops, quirky experiences (penis museum, lava show, ice bar, etc.). Very walkable, very nice people who all speak English.

We spent 4 nights here, travelling from the UK (from LHR with BA). We wanted a min Christmas bread and this was a perfect destination for that. We took day excursions - The Golden Circle, Snowmobiling and Ice Cave + Northern Lights evening trip. We also (independently) visited The Sky Lagoon which was wonderful. Iceland is expensive so I recommend self catering as eating out will blow the budget.

Island and Reykjavik are two separate things.
Island and Reykjavik are two separate things. Make choices in advance you can not see and do everything in one visit. Focus on what is possible and experience that fully. Return an other time for what remains.

The hotel is perfectly located right in the middle of the city but somehow managed to stay away from the noise. The rooms were absolutely lovely and kept spotlessy clean and restocked daily. Dont start me on the bed.... So comfy! Slept like a log.The breakfast was also really lovely and plenty of choice.. Staffed by very cheery and helpful staff. All put together... We had the best few days in Reykjavik. I would strongly recommend.
Modern with facilities. It's one of the newer hotels outside Reykjavík city centre. For the price is much better then the expensive ones in the city centre which look out dated / from the past. Also self check in is excellent if you don't want to see the staff or just wat to do everything on your own. I don't see the staff at all when I stay, but for me that's fine.
One of the less times I give 5 start to an hotel ;)
Ideally situated hotel in Reykjavik, close to port and in the citycenter. Loads of restaurants and shops nearby. Front desk was very helpful and booked our transport to the airport (which is not linked to the hotel, but they made the reservation). Reasonable price considering the others and the good location.
Well, for downtown reykjavik, one of the cheapest accommodations and breakfast it was doable. if you need a place to stay. Very comfortable matress and good breakfast for the price. But we still had a lot of issues and the rooms weren't that clean.
Street parking if there is space. Away from the center. One of the cheapest in Reykjavík. I prefer to pay something more and have that extra that is missing. Correct.
