We spent a weekend moving around. We recommend Stow. It’s a lovely village with everything you need. Bars, restaurants, take away, restaurants and the local supermarket (Tesco) was only 2.5 miles away.

Moreton is a traditional Cotswold market town, with most of its shops, restaurants and pubs clustered in pretty honey coloured stone buildings on both sides of the high street. There's a nice church and churchyard, and lots of pretty cottages with flower-filled gardens (in Summer) on some of the side streets too. Shops are of the independent kind, small, with opening hours usually 10am-4-5pm. There's a Tesco Express for essentials, a Cheese Shop and Wine shop, and a few antique shops. There are a good few pubs serving real ale and most doing food, plus a couple of Italian restaurants, a Thai and an Indian. A good stop on the Fosse Way. There's a petrol station just metres South of the town. There's free car parking on the High Street, and public toilets (payable) too.

A Cotswold market town, it holds the train station to London...

A Cotswold market town, it holds the train station to London, Oxford, Stratford-Upon-Avon and many other destinations. It's also a hub for bus transportation through the Cotswold's many villages and towns. Restaurants abound, including "Bellini," as good an Italian restaurant as one could find anywhere. We dined there 4 nights for the vibe, the good wine, and great pasta and risotto it offers. Get a room at the local inn or some guest house and you don't need a car to get around.

Quaint little village with lots of nice restaurants. The next villiage of Stow on the Wold was also beautiful and highly recommended. There was an indian restaurant in Stow on the Wold called the Spices which i woulld recommend you visit. Both Villages were so beautiful and very close to our accomodation.

Lovely picturesque little Cotswold town, a good touring base as it has good bus links - on a day ticket, I was able to visit Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, and Chipping Norton. Excellent walks in the vicinity. The tourist information office gave lots of helpful advice. I was there for Longborough Festival Opera, which was SUBLIME.

Perfect location in the High Street but quiet accommodation in the courtyard, behind the main hotel. Room comfortably appointed, as was bed! (We were in room 42, queensize, upstairs courtyard). Had dinner in restaurant - lovely food. Staff throughout hotel were delightful and helpful. Breakfast either in conservatory (just a little cool in there) or front dining room. Had the pub area with roaring fire for drinks but quite small+popular - so couldn't get a seat either night.

Breakfast was not available at this property during the weekend, but there were nice places to have breakfast in Moreton in Marsh. The reception staff were helpful when we reported problems with the room and found us an alternative room for our second night.

Excellent location, quirky and Thai restaurant looked fabulous although we didn’t use it, due to going to Loughborough and eating there. Will definitely do it next time we are in Moreton in Marsh.
